Bought the 2 pack and am not disappointed. Simple set up, syncs with each other and the led smart lights I purchased later. Have had them around a month and they have made my life a bit easier. The phone app can be a bit complicated when you're trying to impliment groups of devices, but once you figure out where things are in the app it too is simple. Since I have and use 2, I found it was best to rename the wake up command for one of them. You have the option of "Alexa" or "Echo" as well as a couple of others. I switched one at set up just to be safe and avoid conflicts between the 2 devices. So far works like a charm. Only draw back is the angle of the camera if you don't purchase the stand. My units sit on average height tables and the camera points up towards the ceiling. So using the "drop in" feature to check on the house/pets doesn't work well without the adjustable stand. Which of course is extra $.

We received the Echo Show 5" when we purchased our new Echo Studio speaker. It's such a nice addition to our home. We had no idea how much we would use it. Sound quality is good and we can use it with our Nest doorbell system to see who's at the door. Really nice feature..

I have had this item for over a year now. I bought it as a birthday gift to myself. I was just browsing around in Best Buy on my birthday and I like technological gadgets and I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. It comes in so handy. My daughter bought me the dot for mothers day of 2020 so I put the dot in my living room and put the show in my master bedroom. I can announce to my husband to wake up for work when I am at work. It has so many cool features. I can just say Alexa show me front door or side door or back door. I can ask her to show any of my camera without getting out of bed. It has really made life easier. I would definitely recommend them.

For the price it’s a great smart screen gadget. Picture and sound are good and has many options. Only thing I do not completely care for are the skills instead or apps and the lack of touch support for using a skill. Sometimes I don’t want to use my voice to bring up actions and would rather a quick swipe and a tap. There are some things u can control by touch. Skills are amazons version of apps. They recently added Netflix to the 5” echo within the last month and a half ago which was great but no Disney plus yet. There is internet browser on device but have to call it up by voice and with the skills u have to be almost exact in the phrase u say which is a big deal if have a lot of skills and tough to remember them all. They have announcement intercom and drop in for communication which is nice. Intercom to other units in house for dinner time or drop in on them to see what they are doing. The drop in also works for device in another home as long as they approve it in their settings. The stand for it is not included and is listed at $20 which I feel should have been included. Skills are often made by people and not Amazon or company so quality control it lacks. Ther is a live tv streaming skill that is nice and can request channels to be added. I got 2 5” echo for $90 and bestbuy gave $10 certificates by email several times in December which I put towards buying adjustable stands which were on sale 17.99 so got for $7.99 in the end which was ok but still should have come free with it

A versatile and convenient Alexa device. Sound quality is a definite step above the pucks, and the small but good quality screen makes this a versatile desk clock and video chatting or intercom device. I also use it to stream music or internet radio. It's as functional as the larger Shows but takes up so little space I've got a couple around the house as clocks. Which takes me to my one gripe about these. Since they're a great size for a desk clock, and one of the primary "screensaver" apps is a clock, I'd hope they'd keep time accurately. But what happens too regularly is that the clocks freeze. I suspect they go to sleep when not activated for a while. That would be good for some things but not a clock. I have tried leaving the camera shutter open, thinking it would "see me" and realize it's time to wake up. That didin't fix it. This doesn't happen every day but often enough that I've been looking at the time and having to double-check my watch. I have been online and have found suggestions to open a port on my router, which I'm reluctant to do and haven't found necessary for any of my other Show devices. I haven't contacted Amazon for support yet, but may do so after the rush of the holidays has died down. Other than that glitch, I've found these to be very handy. I also recommend the optional stand, allowing you to adjust the angle of the screen. This comes in handy when video calling relatives!

I’m really enjoying the Alexa show 5. The sound quality is great. Especially after I bought a stand for it. The speaker sits on the bottom of this device and sounded muffled. The stand is an additional cost of just shy of under $20 (Ouch!) but worth it. You can also Position the clock. The screen is brilliant in color. I haven’t tried the video feature yet. I also keep the camera on off position. I use it for an alarm in the morning and so far Alexa hasn’t let me down. The thing I love the most about this little device is that right before the alarm goes off the display on the clock slowly glows brightly to wake you up more calmly and easier and the alarm doesn’t just blast. It starts out low then gradually gets louder. You can watch YouTube on this little device. But one of my favorite things about it is when it plays my music it shows the song and the performer and the album. Especially when having music with Amazon Prime.

Amazon - Echo Show 5 Smart Display with Alexa

Here's the breakdown, from my perspective: Size: The Show, about the same height as the Spot but significantly wider, providing more screen space for a larger display. The Show is about the same size as my cell phone turned horizontally. Build/materials quality: Show is good, but does not feel as solid as the Spot. Considering price difference (about $40 as of this writing), that's fair. Stability: Show wins this one. The Spot is cute, but because of its shape it sometimes tips when you push it with one hand into a different location on your nightstand. Show is very stable. Screen quality: to my eyes (yes, with my glasses on), Spot is the clear winner. Sharper image. Screen layout: Show works better. Content has a little more space so appears less crowded. Speakers/sound: Show wins. Speakers go around the sides and back and provide a pretty good sound. (Of course loses to a "real" speaker, like my Bose SoundLink.) Privacy: Show has a built-in camera cover slide. Wasn't on the Spot (I bought a privacy sticky to cover the camera.) As for the complaints about the "suggestions"...follow these steps.... 1 - Swipe down from the top of the screen 2 - Tap Settings 3 - Scroll to Home & Clock and Tap there 4 - Tap Home Content 5 - Turn off Rotate Continuously, Discovery, Final Scores, Notifications, Photo Highlights, Stocks, Trending Topics, Upcoming Games, (the other enabled skills are useful and don't come across the screen). 6 - Return to the home page

I replaced an Echo Dot with this in the kitchen and it is a much better experience. The things I really like about it are: a sound equal or better than the Echo Dot; you can quickly glance at it to see the time; it constantly suggests information that you may want to view (weather, recipes, news, etc.); can play videos from Youtube and other streaming sites. The things that could use improvement are: voice command recognition (not just this, but all voice assistants--for instance, if you know I don't have lights called 'Kristen' lights, why can't it be smart enough to know I mean 'Kitchen' lights?; the screen dims at certain times of the day (other than late night, I am not sure under what circumstances it's supposed to dim); also when the screen is dimmed, I would expect the screen to get brighter or something to know that it heard and recognized my command but it doesn't; the interface can be confusing when you want to adjust things sometimes; and at times, it seems too bassy and it's hard to understand Alexa's responses. But, I do like this over the Echo dot for the kitchen. And, although it's small it's perfect for when preparing food or cooking. It would be nice if it was chargeable with a base so I could take it to the dining room table when eating.

The echo is great for any kitchen, rook or even bathroom. Not sure how people are confusing the pop ups as "ads", but those can be turned off or customized to fit your needs. I'm still learning and figuring out the skills and enjoying it. By the way, I got mine for Deal of the Day for $50 and came with a cam. I was sceptical about needing another Alexa device, but this is quite neat and different. It's still Alexa but with more! (Note: I changed my Echo show to only listen to the word "echo" so my other Alexa doesn't pick up) The screen is very decent. Too good for a simple clock, perfect for some YouTube vids, but not super HD quality. The sound system is very good. Music sounds great, but voices sound just a tad muffled at high volume. Not bad though.

this echo show works great. It’s small enough to fit it my child’s room, and works loud and clear as the big one I have in my Livingroom. The best thing about the five inch is more affordable, and it has the camera shutter for privacy. Love…it!!!

If you have a ring camera get this. Control my smart bulbs along with other things. Makes a good alarm clock with a small footprint for the night stand also good speaker to play music. I don't have to repeat myself like my echo dot. Still not as smart as a Google hub but it serves it purpose. Btw i got it on sale for half off so it was worth it, full price not so sure

One of my favorite Amazon products! I love having it near my bedside as it scrolls my favorite pics every few minutes, alarm clock, ask the weather (for the day, week or hour by hour), it plays music, radio, see who’s at the door with my ring doorbell, works as an intercom between any Alexa product or Alexa phone app. Even “Alexa call my phone“ when I can’t find it. Also reads books from my audible and many more functions. If you’re trying to decide between the 5 inch and 8 inch screen, of course eight is better for viewing. I have the larger in my living room. It’s my clock and I get to show off my favorite pics without having to clutter my wall with picture frames. Great product! “A must have” as well as the echo dot.

I bought this for my dad to go with his Ring Doorbell. The Echo 5 is a great addition to your Alexa home, although I wouldn't recommend if you are looking to surf the web or watch YouTube (it's just too small, the Fire 10 Tablet would be better) but it makes a great alarm clock or Alexa command station. In my opinion the Echo 8 is the best size of all the echos, not too big and not too small. And like I said, if you want something that is more than just an Alexa command station, like you want to surf the web, watch movies, and just in general do more things - invest in the Fire Tablet 10. It does everything the Echos do plus tons more - and you can stand it up with a case and put it in Display Mode if you want it to look like an echo.

Work great as alarm clock. If you have a music source it will play that when you ask it. Also put your photo on the screen that you can see when lights come on or walk in the room. Pretty much a Alexa tablet shrunk.
