Works great. I use it for my alarm clock, listening to music, making orders and more very handy to have.

We got this right before our county went into lockdown to put in my mother-in-law's room at her nursing home. She is 90, doesn't have a smart phone and couldn't operate a device anyway. We use it daily to drop in which requires nothing on her end. While not as good as visiting in person, it allows us to keep face to face contact I'm a fan of echo devices but the response to most questions you ask as a google substitute is inadequate

Love Alexa controlling my holidays light and playing music at voice control. I preferred Echo sow 8 due to larger screen size over echo show5. I bought 2 of these to place in different rooms in my house.

I recently purchased one of these for my night stand! Love it, it has nice ocean sound white noise for when I need help sleeping, can instantly pull up my nest or ring live feeds from all over our house. Plus the music is a great feature if you’re a prime member!

We moved from California to South Carolina. We purchased these units to keep in-touch with our family back home. They work great and we are able to see each other clearly and hear each other clearly as well. My wife is very happy with it.

Perhaps the BEST purchase we have ever made for Christmas. Each household in our extended family received one. Delightful! As grandparents this is simply no better way to stay in touch with the grandkids. Highly recommend the Echo Show 8!

The Echo Show 8 is an Excellent product. Affordable compared to its big brother (10 inch) and little brother (5 inch). Display and speaker are great quality and easy to connect to your existing Alexa infrastructure. Good luck. You will not regret it.

I can use it for an alarm, watch movies on, listen to music, sleep sounds, put pictures on it. Glad I purchased it and I got it on sale.

Everything I wanted in an upgrade from the echo show 5". Works just the same as the 5" show but bigger, so when my alarm clock died I knew this was the perfect excuse to upgrade our living room show and take the small one. Glad I did.

Love it. Got it to make video calls to my mom but it does so much more. So easy to use to turn lights off using smart plugs, listen to Spotify, check the weather and ask general questions. Bought 2 at half price during Black Friday sales.

Arrived quickly! Covid has been tough. I purchased this so that we could communicate face to face with my mother. Best purchase. Such a great way to stay in touch during this difficult time. Easy to set up and easy for her to use.

Bought this as a gift for our mother. Shes older and can video call us at home. Its also connected to our ring devices so you can view visitors approaching our home. Alexa allows you to do so many things just from speaking to the device

Echo Show is a awesome piece of technology. It works well with my security cameras, has a great picture and is fun as it has a multitude of facts...just ask it any reasonable question. Easy to pair with phone and the security Apps. It helps you do this.

Really enjoy the Echo Show 8. We downloaded a few vacation pictures that scroll through. It's particularly enjoyable to look over and see a good memory. My only negative at this point is the "Try Alexa's ,,,," that run across the bottom.

If you have any echo units you pretty much know how useful they can be. What surprised me is the the audio quality on this 8" Show is on par with the 10" Echo Show. There is some deep bass there, amply demonstrated by thunder in the storm sounds we will sometimes listen to when going to sleep. There are many blu-tooth speakers out there without video capabilities that cost as much or more than this but have no better audio. I replaced a PioneerVA-FW40 Alexa with this unit because the Echo Show was much more responsive to voice commands and the bass reproduction is at least 95% of what the Pioneer unit could do. Also, the high end is better, cleaner and more detailed, on the Echo Show. The 10" unit has a few features this doesn't, such as a built in light control hub, but this 8" unit it the best bang for the buck, especially if you can catch a sale price.

As the owner of the original Show I can say that the Show 8 is a definite improvement. The one inch difference in screen size does make it easier to view at a distance. At the Black Friday price purchasing it was a no brainer decision.

Works great for my grandmother to be able to video chat with everyone. Everyone absolutely loved this echo! Music, books, the web, youtube, it can do pretty much anything you can think up.

Echos are just fantastic. This is our third one, and the only large one we've purchased. I just found out recently you can ask Alexa to show movies. I keep finding new uses for our Echos. I'd hate to ever have to do without them.
