This has been a great addition to the kitchen. I love being able to get my schedule read to me in the morning so I know how many meetings I have. It’s great being able to listen to music or watch prime or my purchased videos while cooking. The best thing is getting quick answers when you need them. I’ve actually ordered an echo 5 for the bedroom to be used as an alarm clock.

Easy setup and easy to use. Pictures/movies show very well. The call quality is great as well.

Amazon Echo Show 8 is a larger screen and louder speaker than the Show 5 I would suggest in a main room

This echo has worked great over the years!! I have it in my room and hasn’t had any problems at all.

While I haven't utilized all features of this (no video phone calls yet), there is a lot of positives to say about this purchase. First of all, the sound quality is nice and fairly robust. Connecting it to my Amazon Prime music account was simple and with a voice command "she" gets my music running. Volume control via voice as well. Second, she has seamlessly connected to my Wemo wall switches and plugs already named before Belkin stopped supporting them with their app. Calling them by the name set up before turns lights on and off. As this is my second Echo device (the other is the Echo Dot) it allowed me to move my Dot to the bedroom to control said lights. I use Dot as my in bed security device able to turn on lights in other parts of the house if I hear stirring before I head into those areas to check them out, as if their movement triggered the lights to come on. Third, I was able to hook it up to my Google calendar and the rotating screen reminds me of the day ahead of me with the first thing showing up along with other suggestions to try. Finally, the whole package, screen size and footprint is relatively compact yet easy for this senior to see across the room.

I got my Echo Show 8 for Christmas. When I opened it up first though was this is going back, I don’t need this. Then I started reading everything it did & decided to try it. Boy am I happy I didn’t take it back. It has made my life so much easier. It’s like having my own personal secretary. Love everything about it!!

We were looking for a device that would easily let us connect with our son who recently moved away. The drop in feature works great for us and we have been able to see and converse with our son. It was easy to set up and use. It was offered at a great price. The ability to voice commands and hear beautiful music is relaxing. We love this product; has met all our expectations!

I got this on a great sale to upgrade my 1st generation Echo Dot, and I am very happy with the purchase. It also happened to come with a free 3rd generation Echo Dot, which is also great but a whole different review. Before I had to use a separate bluetooth speaker, and I had to turn it on and off. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore because the speakers sound great on the Echo Show 8. I didn't know if I would care about the screen, but that is quite useful as well for sports updates, weather, etc. My favorite thing about it is having my phone pics linked to it through Amazon Photos. It runs a constant collage of all my pictures, and any time I take new ones they will show up as well without me having to do anything. Very happy I got the Echo Show 8!

My family loves our Echo Show. I use it for normal voice commands, as I would put other Amazon devices, but I also use this to monitor my doorbell, camera, check in on the house while I’m away, and monitor and communicate with my children from other floors. My daughter loves to use it for games, and to be able to view lyrics while listening to music.

Easy to setup with voice guided assistance, small and easy to place where needed, many options to configure for your specific needs or just run it like it comes out of the box. Camera is clear and you can cover the camera with the built in slide cover. Speakers are great and just the right touch of soft but defined sound. Liked it so much I bought another.

Overall was great product. Used a lot with a friend of mine and sound quality was perfect and video was good too, was a bit blurry and would be a bit slow at times but we didn’t mind as we would only use it to watch Netflix on our computers and the Alexa to see other. Good times thanks to this :)

I absolutely love this little guy! I bought one for our kitchen and another for my mom which I set up for her in her kitchen. She’s in her early 80’s and we tried getting her an iPad so we could see her when speaking with her via FaceTime or Zoom. As easy as that should be, the technology was too problematic for her and would cause her anxiety and me frustration. The Amazon Echos solved that. They’re easy to setup and I was able to teach her to call us and answer calls in just a few minutes. Now, both of my sisters have one also and each of us is able to call and see our mom on a daily basis as she lives alone and too far to visit more than on the weekends. I’ve added a bunch of photos to her screen saver and they scroll automatically when she’s not using the device and she loves see her children and grand children! I wrote out a list of Alexa skills for her and she loves using this device. It’s the best thing we’ve done to stay in touch with her since the start of the pandemic or even before that. Being able to speak while seeing each other is so much better than simply speaking on the phone. She’s so much more engaged and loves using it!

This echoes are more than adequate. It’s the first time I’ve used devices of this kind it’s very easy to use once you understand the basic functions. I bought it mostly because of the ring doorbell that I got which it works with flawlessly. The sound is surprising for such a small device I also have smaller devices but I like the size of the screen on this one I have three at all and all three work well but the 5 inch one’s kind of small. I have one in the kitchen and you can ask simple questions about Food preparation or conversions from different fluid measurements or weight measurements. Of course you can ask you to spend anything you want and most of time comes up with helpful answers

I got this one for my kitchen after purchasing its smaller and bigger brother (the Show 5 and 10). It has been the perfect kitchen companion. I use it to pull up recipes, watch cooking shows and videos, set multiple timers, and I even use it to send "announcements" to the other echos devices around the house to announce when the food is ready, super cool! Did I mention I know can now rock out to music while I cook?... well yes, you can with its built in speakers, it makes cooking a lot more exciting. You can even make or take calls from it so you don't have to touch your dirty phone when prepping food, unless you wanted to with the Alexa companion app you can install on you mobile device. Lots more to say but all in all, I definitely recommend this, not just for the kitchen, but for any room.

I've had a lot of fun with product. You can query it for information, It tells jokes, gets the news and weather and of coarse music. Great product that I would recommend to anyone. I'm disabled and it's so nice to yell out: ALEXA, what time is it? or Play SANTANA, or give me the news

Great device for bedside or work desk/kitchen counter (8” is Goldilocks size, just right). Nice privacy feature is physical shutter for camera. Resolution is good for size of screen. Very responsive with many customizable display features that can be set up right on the device. Speaker is good for size of device (sounds better than Echo Dot gen 3 but understandably not as hearty as larger studio Echos). Price during holiday sale was again Goldilocks between the 5” and 10” versions. Overall, of the three, the 8” has the best combination of features, size, resolution and sound. Now for the not so good (hence 4 start only rating): 1) cannot get rid of constant “suggestions to try” from Amazon. Even if you eliminate just about everything from the device setup menu, you still get annoying pop-ups on the home screen. 2) Very inconvenient to access browser searches and settings from the video screen. Not as accessible or intuitive as comparable Google device. However, overall, for my purposes, works better for me compared to comparable Google device as it is being used primarily as a voice assistant (although more conveniently being able to use the touchscreen as a regular internet browser would have been nice feature).

I enjoy my echo show. There are so many things you can do with it. Anywhere from recipes to music, phone calls, Ask any questions you might have. You can see when your Amazon packages are arriving. etc

A really big difference from my 5 inch Alexa. The sound quality and easy to read larger screen make this Alexa a great addition to my house. The picture quality is amazing and the unit is really easy to use.
