Just an Alexa with a screen - won’t do video chat

We bought one for ourselves and the other to be opened by my mom on Christmas. Her gift so she and her granddaughter can video chat. Well, this is basically the same as the other Alexa we had…but with a screen that shows nice wallpaper background. My husband spent hours with my brother (who also has one), trying to do video calls. They scoured the Internet for instructions and tips, they tried deleting and reinstalling the App, and nothing worked. So disappointed.
