Overall though - I really didn't like this item. I wanted this to be able to play ambient sounds while displaying the full clock but it forces a swap to the "song" title and information about the audio, There is no way to set it to just stay a clock. It's also brighter than you would hope for, especially when it swaps to the audio information and has images and information brightly pasted on.

The far reaching microphone in the device should be functioning similar to your previous models. I would advise visibly checking for any obstructions in the mics that may be muffling it and then I would also suggest checking for updates. Sometimes a software update is held up and just needs your permission to go through. You can do this by simply asking "Alexa, can you check for updates?" This will ensure you have the latest version.
