ok sound, prefer twist volume

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sound is bigger than the original v1 echo (tall), but it's a bit "boom-y" even with bass turned way down in the Alexa app. I much prefer the twist volume control on the original echo, you don't have to look, just grab the top and twist. On this one you have to find the tiny volume down button and hit it a bunch of times.

For an Alexa enabled device it is certainly adequate, however, as a premium speaker, this Echo Studio is lacking. For the price, purchasing any standalone echo device and pairing it with an Echo Subwoofer is the MUCH better option. Even with 3D audio, this speaker is generally underwhelming.

Worked for a couple of days...

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter and to our disappointment it worked for about two days when it started to become unresponsive with a red flashing ring. The microphone button was not depressed yet it would not respond to any commands. I tried to reset it several times and it helped once but it would go back to the red ring over night. It did sound nice when it worked but the entire experience was frustrating. It also did not appear to have been opened and the box seemed undamaged so not sure what the issue was...just a lemon I guess. We returned it and picked up a Sonos for a few bucks more and it has had zero issues. Never had any issues with any Amazon echo devices until I got this one.
