I am currently a blind customer. I am using an echo devise echo with Alexa, which is helping me go through my every day routines. I purchased this item on over the phone with a representative which was very patient with me while I was getting my credit card memorized and applied to purchase the item. This guy was patient and awesome. I am thankful for items and smart speakers like this one echo device that the help me goes and distract my mind after losing my vision. I think Best Buy and the team on Best Buy for bringing products like this one and have such an amazing team and customer care. Thank you. The way I navigate my phone and I’m writing this review is actually through an app called voiceover on my phone, which allows me and people like me to navigate and kind of have a normal regular life. Thank you Best Buy and thank you team on the stores and web for being so patient with blind people and visual. Impaired people like me. Thank you. God bless you all.

Work well as a stereo pair. Good range of sound set up was not very straightforward but i got there in the end.
Set up a stereo pair for the tv by first Using a firecube tv and settings and set them up as a home
theater rather than creating a group in the app on the phone.
If you want to use for a Playstation you need the fire cube and that has to be plugged into the tv by the HDMI ARC. Then managed devices through the cube menu.

Trade offs from the Sonos.

Replaced a Sonos One Gen2 with this echo studio in our home gym. I loved the Airplay2, the decent Alexa performance, and the sound quality is far and away the best. If it would function as a Firetv speaker or even a “dummy” Bluetooth speaker it would be perfect.
I really wanted something I could connect to my TV in our home gym to boost the volume. I also wanted something that would connect to our Peloton bike too.
Install: Setup was easy and it connected to Wi-Fi quickly. At first it kept saying it was not compatible with my Firetv stick but after a minute or two it suddenly decided they could be friends. I’m guessing it has something to do with it registering or something.
Size: It is bigger and heavier than the Sonos. It did fit on the Sonos stand but I opted to add a strap around it to keep it on the base with weight being thrown around and doors opening and closing.
Alexa: Responsive even with large fans and a heater running. Performs actions quickly (turning off lights, fans, setting the heater, etc.)
Home Theater: Connected to my Firetv Stick 4K (latest model) to improve the sound on a cheap TV. The sound is good and gets loud but it I wouldn’t say it’s equivalent to a sound bar at the same price point. I didn’t find it to be cinema-quality, immersive, or “3D.” That’s fine for me where I just need football games to be louder but buying 2 of these plus a subwoofer would be silly when you could buy an all in one wireless surround system and an Echo for the same price. The volume control is laggy so be careful increasing the volume.
As a speaker: I hate that it doesn’t have Airplay2. This was the major “give up” from switching from the Sonos. Im not an apple Stan but Airplay2 should be included and the only reason it isn’t is to force you to use Amazon’s terrible app. I have to Bluetooth connect this or deal with the clunky Apple Music skill inside the Alexa App. I don’t use Prime Music and after 5+ years with Apple Music I have no desire to switch.
Sound quality for music: Meh. I listen to loud muddy metal, older alternative, rock, and rap. The Sonos filled a 25x15 empty room beautifully with excellent balance and a full sound including surprising bass.
The Echo Studio has clear vocals almost as if it pushes them forward but the mids are lacking and hollow and the base is underwhelming. I have already ordered the subwoofer and I hope the Echo Studio retunes or recalibrates itself over time. Despite being called “Studio” it very much feels like it’s either trying to do too much without enough equalizer or it was designed for voice (Alexa and maybe TV).
For me the added functionality was worth losing Airplay2 and the superior sound. If you just want something to play music and perform Alexa commands, the SONOS is far superior.

Love this Echo Studio! Sound is great!! A little pricey, so I buy them when they go on sale (not very often) I have two now, looking forward to purchasing one or two more. Great sound when you pair them throughout the house.

Echo - Echo - Echo . . .

This is my third Echo, the other two being a first generation and an Echo ll. They all do the same things, at least for how I use them. The difference is the improvement in sound quality, especially in the bass range.
These units have effectively replaced my radio. I can tune in stations that are either unavailable over the air or have a marginal signal. And I love that all three units can play the same program simultaneously - music or talk everywhere!
The fact that I have all the other utilities available (timers, alarms, quick answers to questions, weather, notifications, etc) is a bonus.
My one complaint is about volume control. On the original Echo, volume is adjusted by turning a ring on top. This is not only intuitive, but you can do it in the dark. The two newer units have a + and a - button on top. Unless you are looking down at the unit in a lighted room, choosing the desired button is a matter of chance, unless you memorize which button does what. I know you can adjust it by voice, but I like the the easier option to fine tune it manually. Voice control requires that you interrupt the sound, and tell Alexa to change volume to one of 10 possible settings, not knowing where you’re starting from or if your first request will produce the desired result. The volume setting you request from Alexa may be louder or softer than you intended, thus requiring another request. It’s just easier to just do it by hand.
This device won’t replace a serious audio system, but the reality is that most of my listening is an accompaniment to other activities, and for that, the Echo works brilliantly!

Excellent speaker to rival Sonos with minor glitch

I purchased these, as the blew away the competition individually. With the tweeter being located on top, midranges pointed in 360 degrees and the large woofer, the 3 dimensional sound is amazing. It sounds much better than my friends Sonos. I also compared the sound to the Apple Home Pod, HK, and Bose using my Tidal app in store and the sound produced was not even close. They also were not as complicated to set-up or log into as my friends Sonos. I stream Tidal and Amazon HD Hi Res music and the sound was simply amazing. I also tried Amazon 360 music which is gimmicky, but I enjoyed it as well.
We purchased two in order to run in tandem to replace our bulky receiver and speaker set-up. I was not expecting them to rival a true hi end stereo set-up, but I immediately noticed issues. They had a hard time staying paired together as a stereo, even though that is a function on the app. It was also hard to work with a tech, as they were so new. I'd rate them a 5 used individually in different rooms, and 3 as a stereo set-up. They are large, but it's expected in order to get the amazing sound that's achieved with a speaker of this type. They are also not portable. If you are buying a speaker of this type to be placed in each room and controlled by one remote, I'd buy these in an instant. You will not dodge the cords or avoid finding something to place them upon. If you have those bases covered, the sound will blow you away. You will not be disappointed. To be used as a stereo, I think there are still some kinks to be worked out.
Amazon really hit a home run on the sound quality, ease of use, quality construction and modern look. Unfortunately, we did return the product, as the entire reason for the purchase was to replace our bulky stereo and all of it's wires.

Beats the Beam and Sub combo for half the cost!

I have the Sonos Beam and Sub but the Atmos and 3D Music capabilities of the Echo Studio made me want to try it. Also, the benefit of the Studio playing well with my other Echo speakers unlike Sonos where it's not fully compatible.
I can't speak to how one Studio sounds becuase I ended up getting two along with the Sub and it blew me away. The Sonos Beam and Sub combo is great for music and movies but the Echo Studio set adds so much more depth to the sound for movies with Atmos that it is clearly more movie theatre sounding. I know it' s not full surround sound but there is separation and Jack Ryan and other Netflix Atmos movies sound so much better with the Studios. For music the Sonos was much closer in quality. I'm going to sell the Beam and Sub and will most likely pay for this set but I wish I would have bought the Studios first and would have saved a lot of money. All 3 speakers cost less than 50% of the Beam/Sub combo. Crazy!! Even the little Atmos startup video when you first set up your Home Theater in Alexa was amazing!

It’s the pinnacle of our sound system in our home. Wife likes to listen to classical music in the morning while getting ready. Tells Alexa what she wants and says “play everywhere”. Plays sounds in the rooms we have our Alexa’s set up in

The sound is very good for its size and will fill a small room well. I actually bought two and have them as a stereo pair.
The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is the Echo software is quirky (to be polite). Probably just fine in solo mode but running as a pair sometimes only one speaker will play. I pretty much know when it will happen and all I have to do is say "echo off" .... say it twice!!! Very strange. Then it will play in stereo.

I have basically surround speakers or echo tv from Alexa in every room and group play them. I have 1000 sq ft of unobstructed space. With all playing it is the largest surround system. Everyone is amazed it is all Alexa. This speaker regardless of where you set it, sets up acoustics.

I have a lot of smart or wireless speakers in the house: Insignia, Google, Amazon, Sonos, Sony, etc. I really wanted a great sounding Amazon or Google speaker that worked with Amazon, Google Music and Spotify. I've been thinking about getting the Sonos One or adding an Echo Dot to my Sonos Play, but came across the Echo Studio at the Best Buy store. I was immediately amazed at the sound and started reading reviews. Most of them said that it was amazing with 3D sound, as well as Ultra HD sound, but lacked with standard audio. Well, they were right -- in a way.
The Echo Studio really is a good speaker with any music. Once you hear it with Ultra HD or 3D sound though, the rest just lacks. I've compared it with my dual Insignia™ - Voice™ speakers and the standard definition audio is really comparable. But, Ultra HD or 3D music is so amazing on it, you really can't go back right away.
Amazon is slowly upgrading their catalog, while Tidal and Apple are already higher quality. Just Spotify is a bit behind the times. If you only have Spotify, this isn't the best speaker for it. If you have anything else, this is the best speaker for $200 that you can buy.
