I really didn't know how much information I needed until I receive this as a gift. It is great when you need a quick answer instead of searching online. An it's the best alarm clock that I have ever had. I recommend this to everyone that I know

Easy for my wife to play music she likes by just asking. Works great on Fire Tv. Still hooking up lights and controllers but all has been easy to do.

Despite of being a good idea, it lacks some logic or connectivity. Most of the questions non-related to the Amazon universe don't have an answer. Although if you have a smart home/devices the functionality grows up exponentially.

Handy to have around the house so I don't always need the phone.

I had been looking at the echo for awhile but wasn't an early adopter. As much as I geek out over products like this I wanted to wait till the skills library was a bit more tested and expanded. Well imagine my surprise when I got this as a gift! Absolutely love using my Echo/Alexa. Weather, music, shopping lists, and the constant things they are adding. Yes it has its moments when it can't understand something but I do tend to mumble at times. Don't expect it to be a search engine giving multile results to an inquiry but it's a great speaker, home assistant, kitchen helper with measurements, and it even controls my home temperature on my Honeywell thermostat. Next purchase...smart plugs so I can turn some items off and on with my voice. Love the interactivity and I haven't even scratched the surface yet on all Alexa has to offer. I have found the Love my Echo website to discover new things I haven't tried yet.

It was easy to set up and easy to use but not as savvy as Siri.

I purchased the amazon echo as a mother's day gift for my wife and it has quickly become a gift for the entire family. The sound quality from the speaker is above average and we can play music either from iHeart Radio or from any of our connected bluetooth devices. It quickly connects to the wifi in my house and is very portable. We haven't used alexa for many of the home automated functions (lights, electronic, ordering food online, etc) but once we purchase wifi outlets, we will most likely try the technology out. Overall, we are very happy with the product.

Love my Amazon Echo, very responsive, mainly use it for weather and music. Answers any questions I have. Soon I will connect it to some lights, for a start

The echo was super easy to set up and start using. The whole family loves using the echo from playing music to getting trivia and a ton of other things.

Pros: Controls the lights in our house and integrated seamlessly with the wemo app. Plays music well and sounds great as a Bluetooth speaker. We are even able to add groceries via a 3rd party app (OurGroceries). Cons: Some of the commands are a bit of a mouthful and if you don't say the command in the proper order and in a timely manner Alexa will not understand. It would be nice if you could change the default built in lists and to dos to a 3rd party app to make the commands a little easier. Overall: A little expensive for a gadget but the home automation is really fun!

I AM ALWAYS FASCINATED BY THE VOICE COMMAND AND NEW APPS FOR THE ALEXA CONTROL. IT HAS SHOWN MAX ENJOYMENT WITH QUALITY OF SOUNDS AND EASE OF USE.

One of the first steps in to my smart home, so far i love them. Only bad is when the AWS servers go down my connected devices wont talk with alexa.

When I bought the Echo back in 2014. My wife hated it and said she will never talk to inanimate objects. Fast forward 2017 and we use it to turn off lights, turn on the tv, set the thermostats, listen to music, and even as an intercom system. The echoes are the center of our home automation. The only negative I can see is that sometimes I do feel that it's always listening to every conversation but I guess there is a mute button for that.

Good sound and very intuitive. Ask for an artist and voila! It's there. Haven't connected Bluetooth bulbs or outlets yet but plan on in the future

Got good deal on it from BestBuy, 50% off. I would not buy it at full price unless you buy a lot from Amazon and implementing automation at your house. Some skills are very useful, like Dish integration and Smart Plugs etc.

Plays great music and hears you from pretty far away. Simple to set up and makes life a bit easier. New skills being added keeps it new and exciting!

Echo is an excellent gizmo for people on the Amazon eco system. It does/has many things - music, weather, news, jokes, trivia, Bluetooth, speaker, good mics, home automation integration, calendar etc. It lacks an advanced capacity for web search which I suspect it's competition from Google may have. It also lacks in smart TV integration. Some other nice to have would have been a battery in it making it a little bit mobile and integration with other intranet speakers. Overall a good idea and one that will get better over time.

We bought this Echo on sale for a great price. We had never owned one, so thought it would be neat to get one. The sound quality is great.....you can actually hear the base on this thing, and of course, everyone's buddy, Alexa is always ready, willing and able to answer your questions and commands. I like that I can listen to my favourite music all day on Pandora, and ask Alexa Math questions when I don't know the answer. We actually purchased a second one for the basement.

Great with music, weather, news and Shopping List!!!!! I'm sure that it will only get smarter when asking more directed questions regarding persons, places and things. It is definitely something my family and I use every day!!!!!
