I originally got the Amazon Tap. I had read the reviews that mentioned that the sound was hollow with no bottom. That was correct. I returned it got the Echo and there is a big difference. The only problem is that it does not have portable power pack. I have seen 3rd party source and I'm gonna try it. I highly recommend this item. It is all that it claims.

This has become everything I need in my house. It keeps me organized, on time and entertained. Love having music everywhere I go!

This is a great new product. Speaker sound quality it pretty good, and I love being able to stream music without a phone or tablet. It can tell you the news and weather and is learning new functions all the time. I think this is the wave of the future. It is nice having my own personal assistant around the house...now only if it could make me breakfast.

Alexa recognizes most commands and questions and will tell you when she doesn't. Seems like she learns daily. We have the remote control too and it's very helpfull when Alexa is not in the room that we are in. Set up is easy and music sounds great. Shopping lists and to do lists are awesome and they appear on your smart phone via the Alexa app. Timers and alarms are useful too. Right now my complaint is Alexa cannot answer your paired smart phone yet, I read Amazon is working on this.

I purchased this Echo for my uncle, who is a IT Network Architect and loves everything tech. He has a smart home so he's basically able to carry out everyday tasks with ease (lights on/off, thermostat, grocery list, security system, etc.) He loves that he's able to play his music just by taking to Alexa. I'm so glad I got this for him, he loves it!!

I initially thought this was a gimmick product and dismissed it for quite a while... until my wife requested it for her home-office work situation. Alexa is now her best and most convenient friend, both as an office assistant and as a home /kitchen advisor and entertainment source. Alexa was a bit expensive but has certainly earned her keep!

Bought it as a toy but I find more uses as time passes. Great timer and source of music, stock updates and weather information.

I have to admit that I am very pleased with my Echo. It was easy to connect to my Amazon Prime account so we have been enjoying music around the kitchen. It is amazingly easy to use. The speaker is great and we are finding it much more than the gimmick I thought it would be. We have enjoyed it so much that we added two Dots, one for each floor.

We use the Echo for music, lighting control, weather reports, alarms and reminders. It has been much handier than we expected. It struggles sometimes when the TV is noisy but works well most of the time.

My Mom has short term memory loss and I thought this may assist her. The most important ability that we need from the Echo is to easily put things into calendars,reminders, or timers and then easily retrieve them.I think there was an update for that ability. I haven't had much time to set it up yet. With what we have done with it,-Sounds good, plays music,gives directions, good dictionary.Will do more and update this review. This was neat at first, when I could stream music and goof around with it. Once I delved into the smart home controls, this went from neat to amazing. I can now tell Alexa Go to Bed and the lights downstairs go out, the TV goes off, the door locks and it can even adjust the thermostat. This is truly the easiest home automation device out there!

Overall a great sound from a small package. Price may be a little high for the money but other than that a great purchase.

THE ONLY TROUBLE I HAD WAS CONNECTING TO MY WI FI. THE DIRECTIONS WERE NOT REALLY CLEAR. ONCE I GOT A LITTLE HELP IT WAS SIMPLE

Got this to test a voice connection to my Nest thermostat. Works Great! Learning about all the other stuff it can do. Fun tech!

Easy to set up and easy to use! And the speaker sounds amazing.

When I first got echo for my wife and I, we really didn't have the highest expectations. It was really something we got to entertain guests. Now that we've had it for a few months, we've found so many uses for it. Turns on lights when we come home, ensures doors are locked before bed, controls the temp in the home, plays music. We love it

The Echo has wonderful option, great sound, and easy to set up.

I am so happy I bought it. The sound is great and so very easy to use. Eventually would like to get another for upstairs.

My husband wanted this for Fathers Day, so I got it for him. He loves it, and I do too. We get the temperature and forecast each morning, set timers for our grandkids playing on electronics, set alarms, play music, and the grandkids get Alexa to tell them jokes. It is amazing, and we talk to her all day. The technology is so outstanding.
