Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- amazon ships these tablets with a neutered version of android which lacks access to the google play store, and therefore, literally all apps - you will be harassed nonstop into letting them breach your privacy - it is possible but absolutely horrible trying to use this device without an amazon account literally you are better off lighting the money you could've spent on this on fire this tablet isn't even a good webui control surface it lacks android apps & the touch screen is basically nintendo DS quality which isn't great for a product that doesn't support a stylus. literally buy anything else, my biggest word of advice is just DO YOUR RESEARCH INTO WHICH BUILD OF ANDROID THE MANUFACTURER IS USING. ensure that it gives you access to the broader android app ecosystem before giving them even $30 for something like this. thank you. it is my opinion that amazon does not deserve even the most trivial amount of money for producing this product, period.

We are a customer obsessed company that focuses on trying to give the customer every option available to them while keeping costs as low as possible especially for our entry level devices such as the Fire 7 tablet. While the Google Play store is not accessible on this device, we have found that the Amazon Appstore does have the majority of apps available for what you would use this device for. We have also given the opportunity to toggle many settings for the privacy of the customer while also allowing a multitude of benefits for using your Amazon account such as connecting the eco system of entertainment, shopping, and utility that comes along with doing so. And even though this is an Android based device, all of our products use the Fire OS which is a proprietary simplified system to bring all of this together. Thank you again for your valued feedback and I do hope that you're able to find more value for the cost of the device and get more enjoyment from it. I hope you have a terrific day!
