I have the original Kindle Fire and its weighty, this one is half the weight and the screen is clearer and larger. I love this one and you can't beat the price-you just can't.

This is a great tablet. I gave it as a Christmas gift to a 60+ adult who took to it right away. I set up the Kindle Fire with large lettering which was very much appreciated. The downside: a lot of features are only available to Amazon prime and audible members with an expensive membership fee and the selection of apps is limited. Adding Amazon unlimited reading and prime service to the gift made for a very happy recipient. Skills and apps; especially the Alexa app are fun and useful, games run ok, the display and photo quality is good and it’s easy to handle. For music and books I recommend an additional memory card - I added a 32GB which works ok.

I like the fire tablets as a go to device for the kids. They are so reasonably priced that you dont mind getting them for the kids to use. They allow them to play games, get online for youtube etc, use it as a kindle for reading and if you have prime you have access to all these dl's for free. You can also hack them quite easily so you can use them as a regular android device to access google play services too.

My 95 year old dad wanted to join the 21st century in regards to technology. He wanted an email account and access to his emails. I researched a lot of products. The Amazon Fire 8th generation tablet was the winner. The size, price, simplicity of set up and use was perfect for him. He still calls me when he needs help but that's okay because I have an Amazon Fire too. If he can master it anyone can.

We love the Kindle Fire for a beginner tablet for our kids. It is easy for them to navigate and has enough storage for them to have their games and pictures on it. It also has parental controls and I love that. The newest Fire is slimmer than the old ones which is nice as well. The only negative comment I have is the chargers don’t fit well in any of the Kindles we have owned. It is a loose fit so sometimes they don’t charge.

The tablet is small, but very useful, especially for kids. The price being under $50 is a great option for a beginner or someone that wants a small reading tablet.

I bought this for my bifocal wearing husband who spent too much time squinting at his phone screen while web surfing and video watching. It's a perfect upsize from his smartphone yet not as cumbersome as a full size laptop. He loves it and uses it for all his internet searches and video tutorials. I purchased a Bluetooth keyboard case seperately to expand it's usability and he just loves his "mini laptop". I like the camera and other features as well.

Been using it for 2 weeks now so far so good. Great for my 1 yr old. I don't need to spend $300 for a iPad mini for him. This will do just as good.

1st time using these fire kindles, if that's what they are called. It was on sale during black friday so I picked up 2. It's been only day 2 since we had it so i can't say much for the long run but so far it's good. Quality is clear, the sound is good and it's pretty quick. I've bought a cheap one back then forgot what brand it was around $50 and it was super extra slow! Needless to say I returned it the very next day. We have a apple ipad mini as well, but now that we have 2 children, we don't want them to fight over the ipad. So hopefully this one will be good enough.

I am so glad I bought the new 2017 Kindle Fire. This is my 2nd Fire, and 4th Kindle. I primarily use it to read / listen to books, 5% for games , apps, and video. The new features include: 1) The "About a Book" feature that is seen in the App is now on the Kindle. This is so great to have the summary available within the book and no longer needing to reference it in the Kindle Store. This is huge to me since I frequently pre-order books and don't remember them when they are finally released months later. And the summary is no longer tethered to WiFi availability. 2) The book sync's to most recent place read, not furthest place read (as seen in the 5th Gen.). This is great if you re-read books, it is no longer trying to put you at the end of the book. These were 2 things that I really wanted to them to put on the Kindle devices and they did it. So happy. Yes, it still has text-to-speech. You have to turn it on in the settings, but it is there. Yes, it still has the black screen with the light font. It is more gray than white so I like it even better. Yes, it still has bluetooth. I have paired it to my wireless headphones and it is great. The size is significantly smaller than the 5th gen. I can palm the entire device and I couldn't with the old version. The screen is the same 7" size. The new case is Great! I love that they finally built in the portrait view stand. It is so slim and easy to hold and carry. I did not need to go find an after market case that ends up being bulky. My one negative is the speaker is quieter than the old version. I used to be able to just listen to it from the passenger seat, but now I have to hook it to the car speakers. I just love this device. What an improvement in functionality for reading.

Will do almost everything you need and can’t be beat for the price. Size is great for portability, and the speed is only slow with more intensive games.

My wife complained for ages that her older iPad was "slow". so I bought here this and an 8" one from Christmas. I figured if she didn't like the smaller one, I could return it. She loves it. Fits in a larger purse, is light weight, a great Kindle reader, and does some simple online work she needs. She liked it so much, I ended up returning the 8"

I purchased this device to replace my broken iPod touch sixth generation on black Friday for $29.99. I can do everything I used to be able to do on my iPod touch on this device at a fraction of the price surf the web, read my email, use apps like YouTube, eBay and now with the new movies anywhere app my digital movie collection is available on my amazon fire! The screen isn't as sharp as the iPod touch but it is much bigger and a quality screen still. I highly recommend this product apple has some serious competition.
