Great tablet for my child and beginners

The only issue I have that I cannot figure out and haven’t had time to contact Best Buy is how to make the headphones work on this tablet, my daughter has compatible headphones and we connect it to the tablet and the tablet still plays the music of video on the tablet and won’t be heard through the headphones.. maybe it’s a setting issue and I just don’t know how to make it work but other than that I love this tablet for my children it is the second one I buy.
