She reads a lot and also likes to play games on her phone. With the Kindle it is easier for her to see her games and not to mention the books are cheaper.

App selection, video playback, picture quality, and processing speed are all good. Only complaint is the built in ads. Settings are adjustable for privacy at least but there is no option to turn off the ads. I did call support with the last one i bought and they turned off the ads but I haven't tried with this one yet.

1st Kindle Fire for the Grand kids

It has Parental controls and the table is easy for children to understand and operate. If your child is not responsible with there things you'd do good to buy a case and protect it!
