I chose to not go with the kids version because I have heard a lot of bad things with the outcome of those not working. These little things work exactly as needed for the kids.

For a 8 GB hard drive, only about 4 gigs is usable. The ads aren't a problem, its only on the lock screen and is quick to dismiss. Browsing is fairly quick. I think for the price I paid, it was well worth the 5 stars. Even if I payed the full price it would have been worth the 5 stars.
