The only place the ads show is on the home screen, once you open to the operating system the ads are gone. If you just want to surf the web, or do some reading this is the device for you.

Since this is not my first tablet I was familiar with things, but for a new user, I think a booklet of some sort would be a help

But for $50 it is an great value. It doesn't come with the Google Playstore pre installed it can be easily added.
