Tablet works well. The child friendly features allow for a safe environment for learning and play. The Amazon Kids subscription is great for age appropriate books, videos and music, while allowing parents to create boundaries as required.

My first one lasted for years now on my second Amazon fire from Best Buy.

I bought this so my son had something to do on a long road trip. It worked perfectly for that. My only complaint is its reliance on an outside source for internet. I used my phone's mobile Hotspot for it but most apps and games use so much data that my unlimited (thats not really unlimited) data plan ran out of data really quickly and then it was a brick.
