The tablet requires an amazon account to basically do anything on the tablet unlike other budget tablets. I would stay away and purchase another budget tablet that runs a clean version of Android

Our need for an Amazon account to be registered is very similar to any other tablet needing to be signed in to Google for access to that tablet's AppStore. You can definitely access the device without registering it and still have access to most functionality. By registering it to an Amazon account, however, it will allow you to save a backup of your device in the event you want to switch to another Fire tablet in the future. It will also give you access to any Amazon features you may have if you have any Amazon subscriptions such as Prime Video or Amazon Music or Audible or Kindle Unlimited. It will also allow you to download app, games, books, or movies or even make purchases for apps or games that may not be free. And if anyone does not have an Amazon account, it is free to sign up for one in minutes. I do hope this helps a little to see some of the benefits of why we have a registration process and I again thank you so much for your time and feedback as we are always working to improve upon our products and services based on feedback just like yours!
