Light weight and fast. The new 10 is all that it is built up to be, Faster than the old fire HD and a better screen. The Home screen with the new way apps are aligned is far more useable than the carousel. Added a 128 mb card to the 32 mb's to give a lot of storage. The only item I would have added was the ability to go 4G if needed for trips. Worth every penney.

I was hesitant because it is not a full android OS it is modified for Amazon, I thought of getting Galaxy tab A 10.1 but this was $70 cheaper. most of the same specs. The camera is low resolution but I did not buy it for the camera but turn on HRD in camera settings and the pics look better. . I was able side load the Google play store which makes it better a few apps did not load ( like my bank app ) . but it is now better with the play store. It is fast and has a bright display .Battery life is pretty good.

This is my third tablet, the first was a Xoom, this was a good tablet but slow. The 2nd was a Galaxy Tab A - a good tablet but grossly over priced, also it continually lost network connectivity, easy to resolve but a pain in the.... Now I have the Fire tablet and it is, so far, great. It's setup is a bit different from android, but easy, you just have to get used to it. The screen resolution is magnificent. Nice bright colors. The sound is great as well. I've watched a few movies on the Fire (via Prime and Netflix) and they streamed wonderfully. I use my tablet mainly to read books and surf the internet. I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription (well worth the price). The Fire downloads the books, either automatically or on demand, in no time. I like the Kindle app on the Fire tablet. I also have the Kindle app on my Windows laptop and my Pixel 2 phone. The app seems to work better on the Fire. I don't take many photos with the Fire, but the few I've taken came out great. The one thing I was worried about was "Special Offers" - advertisements. I hate advertisements, just hate them. Now that I've said that, the advertisements on the Fire are unobtrusive. They pop up when you first turn the screen on, you can either respond to the "Special Offer" or just enter your pin and the advertisement is gone. So far, I don't mind them at all. I'm not the type that downloads hundreds of apps to my tablet but the ones I've wanted have been there so far. I'm the type that likes to try new devices when I upgrade and neither of my previous tablets gave me any reason not to try a different brand. The Fire is different, the combination of the speed, ease of use, streaming ability, and (especially) the price will probably bring me back to a new Fire in 3 years when I upgrade.

The fire hd10 is a great tablet and hears why... Pros: - screen size makes reading even with large text enjoyable - access to the Amazon bookstore and if you have prime plenty of included books to read - if you want it to behave more like a normal Android tablet you can sideload apps (if you know what you're doing) - the 1080p screen looks great when watching video - the performance is snappy - the battery life is decent (I only use it to read and it lasts several days without charging) Cons: - it's a complex process to get your non-amazon books to work (I sideloaded a third-party reader) - there's quite a bit of ads ( I was able to disable all except the one on the lockscreen) Overall a great tablet for the price

Pros: Fast, super screen, easy to hold (light), Alexa is cool Cons: Minor stuff mostly due to the very intrusive Amazon ads. However, I do understand why they have to advertise to make up for the low tablet price.

Good looking screen, pretty fast. I'll ding it for not being able to install the google pay app (yes, I found instructions but they didn't work) but the google play store can be accessed via a browser so you still have access to everything. Would be worth it at full price, very good deal for 1/3 off.

light weight, slim, easy to operate. Bought for my mom, with a stylist she can operate her kindle fire with ease. She is also losing her eye sight and the only thing is, I had to put nail polish on the cord for charging so it plugs in correctly. It would have been better if the plug didn't have to go in one way. I found a wireless charging system for the kindle fire and this will be more effective in this case.

I purchased this for my daughter who is 10 going on 20. She was able to move around the apps and settings fairly easy, an absolutely loves having Alexa. I do think it's annoying to have the ads but it's not bad enough to pay amazon the fee to have ad free. All in all this is a good tablet that if it does end up broken it's not $600+ down the drain like an iPad. Put a case on it and let them at it!

While you are limited to the Amazon app store and prime services unless you manually install the Google lay store, the abilities of this tablet make it so much better a deal than an iPad that costs more than double the price.

Bought this baby during the Black Friday promotion for $99.00. Couldn't pass up a 10.1" name brand tablet for that price. Easy to get up an running. Just so everyone know, I am a Chromebook fan. DO NOT like Microsoft operating systems. This Amazon tablet is not as zippy as my Chromebook but it's still good. I don't think this thing can be beat when you consider your 'bang for the buck' for all the features, size and quality for $99.00.

love 10.1 screen, ease of use and great price, finding a cover for it was very easy as well. Made an excellent gift for my nephew. Got it as a replacement for an insignia tablet which has been discontinued. Does the same as the galaxy tablet at a much lower price and more memory

I bought my Fire HD10 tablet for its size and convenience. It has not disappointed. It’s slim design and light weight makes it a perfect tablet to carry from room to room or to take traveling. And it’s affordability is a bonus! It’s easy to use and meets all my needs.

Wow, if you are an Amazon prime customer, this is an amazing tablet that is fast and a wonderful display. I have an IPAD Pro 12.9 as well but really prefer using this because of the size....it has a wonderful display for watching movies, holds a charge for a long time....plays all the latest games without delay. Do yourself a favor and get this “budget” tablet...you will not be disappointed

This good-size tablet delivers without breaking the bank. It has all the features you could want(if you want a great camera, buy a camera-not a tablet). I mainly wanted it for use as an e-reader, but have found it to be useful for checking email, as a small TV in the kitchen, and as a screen for my thermal imaging rig. I'm sure I will find more and more uses for it as time goes by. The image is sharp and clear. The battery life, so far, is superior to any device I've owned. It's easy to use and navigate. The blue light reduction feature is useful for late evening reading. You will not be disappointed in your purchase.

I am writing this as an avid Apple product user and fan. In my family we have several Apple products, including a bunch of iPads and iPad minis. This Amazon Fire Tablet stands up pretty well to the pricier iPads. Even better, I bought it on sale for $99. Can't beat that price! The image quality is very, very good--comparable to our iPads. I bought this particular tablet for my husband and he swears the screen quality, the responsiveness of the games/apps he uses, everything, is just as good as our iPads. He's constantly teasing me that people who would buy iPads for triple the cost of this Fire Tablet are nuts. Of course he's just trying to get me riled up since he knows I love my Apple products. I will say that the only downside is the limits of the Amazon app store. I did sideload the Google Play Store so that my husband could download the real official YouTube app, among other apps not available on Amazon. I realize, though, that the average consumer would probably not know to do this, or would not want to (it does void any warranty on the tablet).
