Won't hold a charge after less than 2 years

Spend the extra money and get something that will last. You might be saying, "But it's Amazon" where my response would be, "But it's Amazon." I would try to draw your attention to the slightly smaller Galaxy Tab that you can get for $150. I have a much older 7" Galaxy tab that STILL WORKS GREAT. My next tablet purchase goes to Samsung and at Best Buy as Amazon has ZERO solutions for the Fire after the warranty expires.

    Amazon Fire HD = AMC

I was new to the tablet scene so I looked around for a new tablet I saw the new Amazon Fire HD 10 in the store played around with a bit at the time it seemed to do what I was looking for in a tablet so I purchased 2 one for my wife and one for me. Initially set up was easy and it worked well for about 6 weeks then little thing started not working and locking up at times, as time passed performance continued to deteriorate to the point of becoming terribly slow and unreliable. So to alleviate the problem I bought my wife a new Apple IPAD and myself a Samsung Tab S3 problem solved after 4 months with new products perfect performance !!!! I wish that Amazon would list age appropriate on there products this would be fine for 6 - 10 year olds. Currently my Amazon tablet is doing a great job as a paper weight on my shelf. AMC stands for American Motors Corp. an American car manufacturer who would buy other manufacturers left over parts to build their own cars, seems to me like Amazon likes this business model. So basically you are most likely better off purchasing a more expensive tablet that performs and will last. When you break down cost per unit the Amazon is way more expensive after you factor that you will have to buy several of them.

It will not charge.... Won't turn on , nothing. Bought for my mother in her 60's who is very careful and usually just reads books on it.. Warranty is 1 year... Ofcourse it breaks with 1 year and 1 week... Just looked up, hoping it had 2 years.... NOPE...Other than that she enjoyed it. My mom is so bummed out.... anyone know how to fix?

Not really android; don't buy it

This tablet has problems and they are: 1. Constant advertisements from Amazon; your home screen is a commercial. 2. Doesn't work very well with GMail. Your contact are missing in Amazon's Gmail app. You have to use the "plain email" app to see them. Why even have a gmail app? Very useful! 3. In order to install google play store apps you will have to join the hacker community (almost) to get it to work. You must install 4 different software apps from Google. 4. Amazon is trying to rival Google but at your expense. Their tablet cant use "off the shelf" android apps' only Amazon versions of them. Didn't they learn anything from the Apple versus Microsoft PC wars? Microsoft won; because of open software development and free use thereof.

This tablet is its own entity. Some may love it but me I just need the normal stuff... this tablet is all about purchasing products and using their tailored apps and I just need to do work and watch videos.

Would not connect to my wireless

I have never had a problem connecting a laptop, cell phone or other devices to my ISP. But for some reason, This tablet would not connect. I followed the instructions, made sure the wi-fi was on, the wireless was on, the internet strength was excellent, the password was correct, but it still would not authenticate the connection. Called my service provider and she could not get it to connect properly either. Could not even get it to identify my location. Am returning it.
