Screens tend to go out after 6 months. Cheap so affordable to buy new one.

This is a good tablet if you just want something to watch movies on. I did not want to spend a lot and chose this as the price was too good to beat. I installed Google Play onto the device as I feel the Amazon Store was very limiting. The screen on this is REALLY good. The color and contrast is very surprising for a device at this price point. It is not a fast tablet by any means but for very basic usage it is perfect.

Very disappointed replaced twice and the one I have now is defective

This device has a great monitor, memory, and price. Great value, right? Wrong! I bought this mostly to be an extension of my Android phone for around the house and to use for a specific guitar sheet music app called iReal Pro. I bought one of these a year ago for my 87 year-old Mom, so she could surf the Internet, with help. So, based on the same logic, I bought one for myself. I spent about 4 hours trying to get familiar with the Fire. Even though it is android based, it felt so different than my phone. I wanted to use Chrome, but can not load Google Play. To use Android apps not available on the Amazon App Store, you have to find a 3rd party App in the APK format (Android package kit). This is a huge pain. You have to download them to your PC, plug in the Fire, transfer, then install. There was no APK for iReal Pro. I decided to wipe the Fire clean with a factory reset and return it. Best Buy was great about it! I bought the Samsung Tab A 10.1 for $70 more than the Fire. In 10 minutes, I had it all synced to my phone and it was just like my phone, but bigger. Then I downloaded iReal Pro from Google Play Store, and all is good. Lesson learned: Amazon has fone too far in trying to adopt their own system that is not compatible with the well-established infrastructure of the Android phone standard. The Fire was a waste of time and would never have been 1/10 as good as the Tab A, which I love.

This is quick and fast. Easy to use. I love that it is so easy to get familiar with!!

The tablet is an advertisement. The home page. Everywhere on this tablet is an ad. Lately when i turn the screen off it pops right back on with a different ad. I dont like ads or commercials. Display quality is very nice. Good battery life. Now to the big problem.....wifi connections. It loses connection every few minutes. Google it. OH!!! Google is another problem. You cant use google products. You cant download from the google store. So youre stuck with this poor web browser called silk. The amazon app store is so much slower to update their apps. And they dont have the excellent apps like google does. I hate this tablet. But if you love amazon, you will love this tablet. It's just not for me. I didnt do enough research prior to my purchase. Should have stuck with Lenovo.

Got this for my wife. She needed an upgrade from her Samsung Tablet 10.2 model. This does everything she likes to do easily and the battery lasts several hours.

Received for anniversary. Had the original kindle and liked it. I put my Fidelity mobile app in it as well as some other financial apps, read some books, and did some shopping. BUT with the 10 I am now RESTRICTED from using my apps and chrome. When it comes to apps you are VERY RESTRICTED TO ONLY USING WHAT AMAZON HAS!! BEWARE!! IF YOU WANT TO USE FOR EVERYTHING GO TO A CHROME BOOK OR SOMETHING.

Really good product. I have used an ipad for years and find this tablet comparable.

Spend the extra money and get something that will last. You might be saying, "But it's Amazon" where my response would be, "But it's Amazon." I would try to draw your attention to the slightly smaller Galaxy Tab that you can get for $150. I have a much older 7" Galaxy tab that STILL WORKS GREAT. My next tablet purchase goes to Samsung and at Best Buy as Amazon has ZERO solutions for the Fire after the warranty expires.

Had issues with alexa and with it staying on. It would power off. I returned and got a new one and it did the same thing.

This tablet has problems and they are: 1. Constant advertisements from Amazon; your home screen is a commercial. 2. Doesn't work very well with GMail. Your contact are missing in Amazon's Gmail app. You have to use the "plain email" app to see them. Why even have a gmail app? Very useful! 3. In order to install google play store apps you will have to join the hacker community (almost) to get it to work. You must install 4 different software apps from Google. 4. Amazon is trying to rival Google but at your expense. Their tablet cant use "off the shelf" android apps' only Amazon versions of them. Didn't they learn anything from the Apple versus Microsoft PC wars? Microsoft won; because of open software development and free use thereof.

This tablet is its own entity. Some may love it but me I just need the normal stuff... this tablet is all about purchasing products and using their tailored apps and I just need to do work and watch videos.
