The easiest way to manage your child's content and settings is through the Amazon Parent Dashboard at parents.amazon.com, where you can add or remove apps, books, videos, and games from your child's profile, set daily screen time limits, adjust age filters, and even set time limits by content type — all from your phone or computer. On the tablet itself, you can switch to your adult profile, open the Amazon Kids app, tap the gear icon next to your child's profile, and select "Manage Content" to control exactly which apps and content your child can access. You can also set Parental Purchase Approvals so your child can request new content for your review before downloading.

Amazon doesn’t allow google play on the device, so you can’t get YouTube and some other apps. But, there are ways around it that are pretty simple. Highly recommend for kids and adults as well.
