I think the 2023 model is much nicer than the 2022 and prior models. It seems to have less connectivity issues and overall works really well.

It's perfect for her and it's something that she can get years of usage. I also recommend expanding the memory. Also, I got mine on sale so that was even better.

Downloaded only what we feel is appropriate and will keep focus of our child on long rides. "100 first words" and similar games are great for learning as well!

The easiest way to manage your child's content and settings is through the Amazon Parent Dashboard at parents.amazon.com, where you can add or remove apps, books, videos, and games from your child's profile, set daily screen time limits, adjust age filters, and even set time limits by content type — all from your phone or computer. On the tablet itself, you can switch to your adult profile, open the Amazon Kids app, tap the gear icon next to your child's profile, and select "Manage Content" to control exactly which apps and content your child can access. You can also set Parental Purchase Approvals so your child can request new content for your review before downloading.
Regarding app limitations, the child profile is designed to provide a curated, age-appropriate experience through Amazon Kids+, which includes thousands of apps, games, books, and videos.
