I would definitely recommend this to any parent getting their child some sort of Tablet.

I helped her set it up and put a couple of books on there, but I'll have to play with it more to get the hang of everything, and then in turn explain it to her. I don't find the Fire as intuitive as an iPad, but for what she needs in a tablet, it's pretty great.

Screen resolution and color are excellent. It responses to commands very rapidly. The aspect ratio is good. It is a bit heavy, but acceptable.

This is my first upgrade from the original Kindle and I really like having all my Amazon content still there, while also being able to play a game or check my email. The Samsung employee at Best Buy really tried to talk me out of buying it, but I'm so glad I stayed with Amazon. I still use it as an e-reader, but it has lots of extras!
