    Great tablet for the kids

This is a great beginner tablet for the kids. My 2 year old and 6 year old both have one. My 6 year old uses it as a regular tablet and my 2 year old uses it in Kindle Time which is the kids program. If you are looking for a great starter tablet then this is it and you can't beat the price.

Sometimes when I swipe my finger on the screen, it goes nuts and keeps going from app to app. It's really bad when it's charging. I am planning on returning it.

Bought three of these for our 3 kids so that we could get some time w/our 7" Kindle Fire and not have any fighting. For the cost (we got them at $79 each) I really think they've done well. Our kids mostly use them for games and w/so many free apps/games it's a very cost effective investment. We bought them for Christmas and the hardest thing was finding a good case for them because there was still very little available since they were so new. Finally did find cases though and we've had no issues with them at all.

    Great for Kids

I bought four kindles for Christmas 2014 for each of my children. My oldest already had a Kindle 7" but it was an older model without the camera. Between her Kindle and mine and my husband's iPhones, the other kids were always fighting just to play on them. The price definitely is NOT bad and the Kindle pretty much has the same capabilities as an iPad/iPhone #for the kids anyway#. My favorite feature is the FreeTime--basically a parental control that I can set. It allows me to set limits on how much time they are on the Kindle before the "times up for the day" message displays as well as set the device in such a way that they must read one of the eBooks for a specified timeframe before they can access the games and other entertainment apps. I can also manage their content from any device and download items they want without the item being installed on each device. My kids use their Kindle for homework/research and of course entertainment. We have WiFi at home and any app that requires internet works great. And when we are out of WiFi range #ie traveling on the road#, I usually set my phone up as a Mobile Hotspot so they can connect to the internet. Needless to say, the constant nagging to get my iPhone has stopped and the kids love their "tablets". Great tablet to get for younger kids. #My kids ages are 6, 6, 8, 10#. My ONLY con is that there are not very many cases/covers for the Kindle 6"--in stores and I mean ANY store not just Best Buy stores. You can usually find an abundance of universal cases/covers for a 7", but none for a 6". However, I did find cases for the Kindle 6" online. Awesome tablet and awesome price!

We love the Kindle Fire. Every member of our family has one. They are great for reading, watching videos, and playing games. The "Big Plus" is that they are very inexpensive compared to most other brand of tablets with comparable features and backed by the vast libraries of Amazon. Small and portable and very intuitive in its use. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great tablet.

    Interesting & Small

This isn't my main tablet, but it's fun and portable. I haven't figured out how to disable the advertisements upon unlocking the device from sleep mode. Camera is ok, but a little difficult when photographing a pet bunny (who moves constantly). I like using this table to browse Amazon products, and social media. Not bad for the price.

    Great tablet for kids

While some might argue that the Fire HD 6 Kids edition is clearly a better choice for kids, I paid almost half that price for this tablet. I could get my own solid case for a bit more money and then hope nobody breaks it. But that's the idea behind the Kids edition--it's got a bulky ugly, non-removable case and Amazon gives a great 2 year warranty for it. Nonetheless, the HD 6 is a good tablet for kids and beginners. It's UI is a little weird to me, as a very experienced Android user that runs stock Android on his devices, but I think most kids could figure it out given a bit of time. Parental controls are certainly a nice addition, as well, to ensure that nobody's spending parents' money. The tablet is a snappy, smooth experience. Camera is abysmal (especially in low light), but I didn't expect much from that. Other than lacking the Google Play Store, this tablet is great for any first-timer.

I bought this item for my younger sister for Christmas. She is ten years old so I did not want to buy her an iPad but I did not want to buy her a child's tablet either. This was in the middle and ti was perfect. She is able to download apps, play games, and watch videos. The only thing that I do not like about this item is the poor battery life, but it is not that big of a deal.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old niece. She loves it and does a lot of things with it she was unable to do with her previous generic one. We have been very pleased with our purchase.

What can I say that hasn't already been posted? I recently gave up on the Dell Venue 8, and exchanged it for two of the Fire HD 6. It's an excellent tablet. The display is really clear, and it's very responsive. I'm really happy with it and my spouse absolutely loves it!
