Good Overall

I am not a big fan on the quality of the picture (looks granular rather than clean and crisp i.e. HD) but he has no problem with it. The processing speed is okay as well for what we use it for (ABC mouse usually) however, if you are wanting something that works like an iPad this is not the choice I would choose. But overall satisfied.

Good multipurpose e-reader

A dedicated e-reader may do better, however the Fire HD can also stream video and check email which makes the Fire HD more flexible and versatile. As an added entertainment bonus, I have watched a few "Alexa parody videos on Youtube, only to have the tablet wake up and respond.
