Posted .Hello BrandyW! I am so sorry your tablet is having issues staying connected to the internet. That is not a typical issue we see or expect from any of our tablet lineup. These should be staying connected just as well as any other device connected to your Wi-Fi. Since there could be a couple different things that could cause this, my best recommendation for troubleshooting this issue would be reaching out to Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 while onsite where you are experiencing this issue so they can walk you through a few steps or see what options are available to you. Salesperson gave a kindle instead of a cover. Didn’t pay attention when I paid.. didn’t bring back because I never want to go to your store again.. you should close them all poor service if you can find someone to help..

You MUST OPEN AN AMAZON ACCOUNT TO USE THE TABLET! Your child can't use WiFi or anything on the tablet without the AMAZON ACCOUNT.

While we do require an Amazon account signed into this device in order to get full functionality it is no different than an Apple or Google device requiring an Apple or Google account to be able to download apps in order to use those apps and services on those devices. We do not require any subscription nor does it "trap" any customers in order to use it. We simply require that so that you can access the Appstore for apps and services, to back up your tablet and restore it in the event you need to change devices, or to provide you quick access to any other Amazon services such as Prime Video or your Kindle books. If you do not have an Amazon account, it is free to set up and can be done during the initial set up in minutes. I do hope this explanation puts your mind at ease some and that you give the tablet a chance and that you have an amazing day!
