It would be great if you could take it all off. I had an earlier fire tablet and didn't have that problem.

The tablet has most all the video streaming apps, kindle books (borrowed from the library), check email in the browser, etc. It's Amazon-oriented, but very functional and useful independent of Amazon. I've owned several over the years.

I wanted to see if we could assist you in improving your experience you are having by troubleshooting further with you. One thing you can do to improve speed in your device is to free up RAM by making sure you do not have too many apps running in the background of your device slowing down your experience. You can do this by tapping the Multitask icon in the lower right of your screen and then swiping each app up to close or by swiping all the way to the right and tapping "Close All". If this does not improve your speed I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 for further troubleshooting. I am so sorry for the issues you are experiencing with your Fire HD 8. One thing you can try to do is see if you are running too many apps in the background which could possibly lag your system if so. You can see this by tapping the multitask icon that looks like a square at the bottom right of your screen. This will bring up all of your running apps. You can either close them out one by one or swipe all the way over and tap Close All to close them all down. This may free up some of the memory running your tablet and improve your experience. You can also check your device for a software update in settings that may be causing the issue!

One thing I would recommend to ensure your device does not have stalling or slow down issues is make sure you do not have too many apps running at the same time in the background. You can check on this by tapping the Multitask icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Then you can swipe closed any apps you are not using or simply swipe all the way over and tap Close All. See if that improves your experience some. As far as not being able to download certain apps or games, if you are using a child's profile on this when your kids are trying to use it, you may need to allow an app or download the apps on your adult profile first if it is preventing you from being able to download something. You can check on this by tapping the Amazon Kids app or go to the Parent Dashboard website on Amazon's site. If you continue to have issues downloading then I would recommend reaching out to Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 to troubleshoot further.
