Got this on sale during Thanksgiving and it serves the purpose. You can side load google play and that enables all the apps other than from the amazon app store. Battery life is amazing. Front camera is poor but that is not for this tablet is built for. This tablet is good for watching amazon prime movies, reading books from while travelling. Since the size is 8" it is good for playing games as well. Dont expect this to behave like an ipad.

When one likes to read it is nice to have the page large enough so as not to have a problem reading a book. I'm now on my third book with my Kindle Fire and doing great.

I wanted to have something to read while traveling and this works great. Installed a lot of books on it and the grandkids received permission to put a few games on it.

I use it mostly to watch videos, movies on it on the go. I have an iPad Pro 12.9 inch and I love it but I’m always nervous about dropping it. The kindle fire is great because it’s so durable

These were purchased as Christmas gifts for brother and sister who are technically challenged. For the price, the ease of use and quality of this tablet are fantastic.

I bought this Kindle to replace one that had a speaker malfunction - but it was well used. The new Kindle is sleek, comfortable for reading, and has great battery life.

It's a little larger than my first kindle that I have had now for about 7 or 8 years. I like the new features and that it has been brought up to date. Even has Alexa.

Context: Replacement for my old Nexus 7; bought during black friday/cyber monday sale. Pros: -Literally the only decent android tablet for its price. -Good battery life. Cons: -No access to google play apps/services (youtube, gmail, etc only via browser). -First one I purchased had a defective speaker - QC might be variable. Thoughts: Amazon's insistence on using their own app store/android version is annoying, as is the subsequent lack of core google apps. However, for the price there is very little competition among android tablets.

The tablet works better than I had expected. I was a little hesitant on buying this since I had bought one for a child a couple of years ago and that one was not user-friendly in regard to switching from the child profile to the adult profile. I am a little tired of all the updates. I have my settings how I want them for reading, but then the tablet does an update and I lose all my settings. It also erases the downloads, so I have to wait for it to download again. If it wasn't for that issue, I would give this a 5-star rating.

I bought this for my 11 year old grandchild, she travels a bit with gymnastics so this is a great portable device that she can use for school and leisure activities

What can be said. For the sale price of $50.00 this was a great purchase. Not a high end tablet but for ebooks, movies, email and web browsing I have no complaints.

Amazon Fire HD is perfect for my mom. She wants to read books, check FB, and watch Youtube videos. Perfect price point for people who want the basics without a lot of bells and whistles.

Everyone should have the Amazon Fire HD 8 -8" tablet. Good size for my hands and picture quality splendid. What more could you want. Go buy it. You will not be sorry

I love it! I got it for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas and now my husband wants one so I'll be purchasing another one. It's just the right size, we love it.

We purchased this during the pre Black Friday deals. The price was great for this tablet. My daughter is going to be so excited when she gets this for Christmas.

Good use for kids. Fast and easy operation. Lightweight and good price.

This is a great tablet. Bought this for my 80 year old mother so she could check emails and check out pictures of the grandchildren on Facebook. Price was great.
