It worked out fine. Now that we are home, I have used it to read email and get online. The Skype was great. the online functionality is ok. The Fire is an inexpensive tablet and as long as you don't expect a lot, you will do well.

It was a replacement for his old Apple I pad, what a difference. The price was great, super long battery life, and display screen is incredible. He loves it!
