You really cant beat the value of Kindle Fire tablets. You get decent specs for under $80. The speakers are decent, the screen isn't bad, and there are quite a few apps available. Obviously this doesn't compare with the quality of an Ipad Mini (except the sound on this may be better than Ipad mini 2 and similar to Ipad mini 4), but you are paying 1/3 of the price as well. If you are invested in the Amazon ecosystem, like my mother is, this is a great little tablet. I purchased this to replace my mother's 3 year old Kindle Fire HD7. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the new one runs the newer apps much quicker.

This kindle is kinda basic for a tablet, but its a great starter tab and you can't beat the price. Tbh, I bought it as a gift for a younger relative after seeing him use my father's kindle. Kid and older folk friendly tab.

I particularly liked the Amazon feature that imported all my apps, photos, contacts, and email settings from my older Kindle. Would have been nice if it had also imported the standings from my earlier Scrabble, but, hey, you can't expect everything!

This tablet is perfect to check emails, surf the internet or read a book or magazine. It's relatively light weight and perfect when travelling.

I bought the Amazon - Fire HD 8 - 8" - Tablet - 16GB 7th Generation as a gift. It is great. I love the large display and the ease of working it.

This was a gift for my 9 year old daughter. She LOVES my iPad, but I was skeptical on spending that much money on a tablet that may end up....floating in a tub, covered in permanent marker or play doh...you never know. The kids tablets are too juvenile for her. The cheap android tablets break so fast....I am a high Amazon fan, so I went for the Fire. She LOVES it!!! The HD display is better than the iPad mini4. I love how easy it was to set up, and that you can set Amazon family accounts now. She loves using Alexa for everything! I believe I may get myself one too!!

These tablets are geared towards the Amazon ecosystem. The 8inch screen size is compact like a paperback book. CONS: * Screen not full hd * Alexa not hands free * Kindle books font size cannot be adjusted incrementally. There is part where it jumps from medium and to jumbo, no in between. Not issue on other tablets using Kindle app. PROS: * Pairs perfectly with Amazon apps like Kindle, Audible, Video, Shop, Music * Alexa is great addition * Lightweight to hold for reading * Special offers are fine to keep * Affordable * Great as a gift

Great tablet for kids that comes with usage restrictions unlike Ipad. This is the reason i purchased Kindle Fire HD, I am able to limit their tablet usage compare to ipad. It comes with free (1month) Freetime app online books for my kids to read.

I was unable to connect my Ring app and my ecobee app. Furthermore I’m more invested in the Apple ecosystem than with amazon. I returned this tablet for that reason. It worked well, and and would have been great long term but this one simply came down to personal preference

I love the Fire tablets. They are cheap and very high-quality products! Great battery life, High Definition, and also could expand the memory storage.

I like the color and it is a really nice size. Not to big but bigger than the 7". It works really well with good battery life.

Small, powerful, and does well. I love this thing. It has all the apps I’d want a tablet to have and performs very well. My only complaint would be battery life being a bit on the poor side - but that’s my complaint with most of my electronics.

While there are many budget tablets out there, not all of them are functional. This one is. If you are part of the Amazon universe this links seamlessly. Book purchases sync without effort. Movies are easy to see on Amazon Prime and you can use Netflix also. Alexa is an added bonus. Not sure the camera will get much use but it is there if you want it. Amazon is slowly opening up their market place to other popular apps so expect more. (Note: I turned off the WiFi and just used this as an e-reader and didn't have to charge it for almost 2 weeks!)

Replaced an older model. Like the size, weight and cost. Works well. Primarily use it as a reader but have also used browser.

I am a bit of a bookworm and I love having the ability to read a new book on demand! I like the amount of free books available. I have purchased books from authors that I wouldn’t have known about because I was able to read a book for free.

From price to screen size the fire HD8 is well worth the money.I bought 1 for myself and liked it so much I got 3 more for gifts for family ...

For not a lot of money you get a very easy to use device. I feel you would need to spend a lot more to get something that performed better

I haven't bought me one for personal use, I prefer SAMSUNG. BBBUUUTTT, I love what it those for my kids. They can do their research for class and type up projects and print. It does everything a computer does and easier for them to learn.

Love my new fire a great device with a nice size screen.it's easy to charge and the power charge lasts surprising long i recommend it highly
