I got it on a deal, 2 for $80, so it was a good deal. The screen is usable, the sound is pretty good from the two built-in speakers, and the battery life is surprisingly good. Amazon ecosystem sucks, but the saving grace is the fact that one can still sideload the play store (together with a few dependencies). It supports the Show mode and can act like a little Amazon echo.

This is our 3rd Kindle Fire. Not because they go bad, but because of our own negligence and just wanting to upgrade. The 8" Fire HD has a beautiful display for being 1200 x 800. So slightly better than 720p HD. Apps work great on it and speed is good. Easy to use as well. Highly recommended.

I got this tablet for about $49.99 on sale and I love it, I bought several of them for gifts and for me and it works perfectly, I can watch Netflix, view my emails, go to you tube etc. Perfect tablet for the price, battery is great also. I bought the 16GB one and bought a memory card and have no issues with storage yet.

My old tablet was getting slow and took forever to charge, so I needed a new one. I mainly used it for reading the daily newspaper and checking email. The Fire seemed like the best value compared to other tablets. It is easy to use. So far it works great, and hopefully will continue to do so long-term.

It is all about expectations - if you are looking for something that is portable, reliable and will let you do some basic web browsing, media consuming this is a great tablet. screen is bright, battery life is good and the price is right. Google for simple instructions to let it access the google play store and open the door to additional apps. Good value

Great color and definition, easy to set up and start, even for beginners, Intuitive, and great to view gifs and movies, easy to get books and maintain library. Surprisingly easy to use internet searches, purchases, etc. It is sturdy and so far has handled drops and rough treatment. We have really enjoyed, and at the price, no big deal if it lost or damaged.

I bought one of these for my daughter a few years ago. After 2 years the charge port broke due to poor care taken by my children. So I bought this replacement. It has performed just as well as the previous tablet. The larger screen size is a plus! I would buy another in the future.

Bought this for my mom. She loves it. Watches Netflix on it all the time and browses for recipies reads books. Simple for her to use. Great battery life. Only thing I don’t like is the inability to customize screen saver. It’s just ads which is awful. Still can’t figure how to take that off. Other than that good.

I am using this for ActionTiles, this app lets you dashboards for smartthings home automation. The 8" kindle makes a great platform for this once I installed Google Play on it. I have it mounted on a wall and it allows me to control all my smart devices. I can still use it to read books, watch netflix, etc..

So, this is my 3rd Kindle. My first one broke just over a year old due to overheating. The whole screen would turn black and freeze. My second Kindle I liked the best. I had it about 2 1/2 years when the wifi connection just stopped working. I took it to the geek squad and they couldn't fix it. It was still under warranty so they told me to return it and get a new one. So I had to print out all my pictures saved on the Kindle before I could return it. This leads me to getting my 3rd Kindle. Best Buy said that this is the newest model and ended up being cheaper than what I paid for my 2nd one. I haven't really used it except to take pictures and the images look fine on the Kindle itself but once emailed to myself and downloaded to my computer, they are so blurry and nearly unreadable. I never had this issue with my 2nd Kindle. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the product is because the camera images are blurry. If you just want to ready a book and get on the internet then the Kindle is fine.

I use my kindle for almost EVERYTHING! It’s great for reading purchased books, books/ magazines on my kindle, storing movies or for watching Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, etc. I have one just for my toddler who watches movies on his HD 10 on the go. Great traveling aid, and all around entertainment.

This newest generation kindle fire hd 8 was bought as a replacement for my children's broken kindle kids edition, and so far it works great. It seems to have a better processor, because when my kids are playing games or streaming videos, the kindle doesn't seem to lag or freeze up like their old one did

This was a wonderful price for my baby tablet and a great size. She’s really enjoying it, she won’t let it out her hand. I see a complete difference from the 7” one she had to this 8” and I’ve only gotten it for her to do her school work during this outage due to the coronavirus!
