Excellent, specially considering the price. I used the 7 inches for two years and got tired of the reboots and the constant message of "out of memory" regardless of having an SD card with 12 gigs to full. The screen is big and do not expect wonders since the battery lasts long and electronic balance has to be kept. Also takes a while to recharge from a wall outlet. A solid operating system, responsive and easy to use. The amount of adds by Amazon is acceptable and not invasive at all. Much better purchase than the 7 inches, is not just size is functionality.

Amazon Fire 8 HD is a good tablet when you take the price into consideration. It becomes a GREAT product if you could get it on a special deal that Amazon offers quite frequently. BestBuy does a great job of matching prices so that's a bonus. This is a great tablet for basic use like watching YouTube videos, Netflix, or for simple web browsing. However, the cameras are very basic, and not I won't recommend them for anything other than family video chatting.

When I first picked this up I thought it would be kind of cheaply made but it's not there very nicely engineered, not slow at all for performance not too bad unless you want to do heavy-duty gaming but who does heavy duty Android gaming? (Half the Android Universe? Lol, no) Runs YouTube nicely, my only real caveat, (and it is a prett big one) is you cannot access the Google play store, since in it it's an Amazon product they want to require you to use the Amazon app store alone for your Android shopping needs, but unfortunately I don't think I've ever seen anything on the Amazon app store that the Google Play store didn't have and there's plenty that the Amazon app store doesn't have that's on the play store, but there are workarounds for this on the internet which you can find Natalie on the internet, though I don't think you should have to... biggest thing I would mention and it is a really really big one because this is a tablet and not like a big hefty notebook or laptop it's bound to get broken sooner or later somewhere, somehow. ALWAYS get the Best Buy protection plan - it's always worth it eight or nine months in with my red one and somebody leaned on it with their hand and cracked the screen. ;( Best Buy replaced it with a brand new one, no-questions-asked, thanks to the (IMHO) very worthy $20 protection plan I purchased. They're always great service for that. Didn't get "Red" but - ce' la vie...

I had done some research regarding what tablet to replace my Barnes & Noble Nook and found this amazing Amazon Fire tablet. It is great for travel due to its size and the ability to have Alexa synced is a plus. Very affordable and easy to use. I liked it very much, I ended up buying two of the 8" and bought the larger 10.1 " Amazon Fire tablet also. Definitely recommend.

I have purchase 5 Amazon tablets (3 8" and 2 7"). Reliable, can add a lot of memory (have 128 gb on one of them) and the 8" versions can use "show" mode (we have 2 shows--but they are MUCH more expensive. I use it to view my front door cam, to read ). This is a big advantage over other tablets- I also have the Amazon show mount (surprised to see it came with an extra power cord). Highly recommend.

Really good tab. I bought one for my wife and she liked soo much that she wont let me use it.. so, I bought myself one. I think it is awsome. Great pic and long battery life. This tablet even survived a dropp or two without any issues at all, very durable product. Ultimately got one for my mom as well.

This is a fantastic little tablet. It works great and has tons of apps to choose from and plenty of disk space to download plenty of things. It also has a slit for an SD card for extra disk space!! I would definitely recommend purchasing this tablet to anyone looking for an inexpensive one that works like the expensive ones!!

This tablet is awesome because its features. You can watch movies and play video games. Also if you buy the display stand for it and put it on stand by mode it turns into a clock with your photos as it displays. Talk about battery life no problem what's so ever because it last for about 10 hours when its fully charged. It's also amazing that you read audiobooks with ease and also check the news with the news stand feature too. I highly recommend ever one to buy this item especially if you don't what to spend alot of money and you are on a budget.

If you need a tablet, consider this one. Lots of features for a great price. It does contain adware, but you can pay a couple of bucks to Amazon and get rid of the ads. (The ads are on your open screen and are not that annoying.) Alexa is included on this tablet, but can be turned off. This tablet is great for e-books, games, and surfing the web.

The tablet is light weight and not too small too big. It's great for the kids to play games on or watch movies. I also got the screen protector and case for it so the kids don't scratch or damage it in-case they drop it. I like that I can access the internet right from my home and I can watch Netflix or Hulu on it.

Love this tablet for reading kindle books! So easy to slip in my purse - perfect size and not heavy like my larger tablet, and not too small for reading on like my phone. Bought at Christmas time at a great price and use it every day.

Just want to start, anyone thinking this is an Ipad - it is not. Battery life is decent but will die in 1-2 days if left on. Great little device to search the web, play games, read books, look through photos, etc. Overall rating is thrown way up based on price, $50; for this price you will not find anything better and because it is not apple you can increase the memory easily by adding a card making this a high quality product for anyone to use. If you have kids, might want to get a protective case for it as it is smooth like a phone.

Great battery life: 12 hours reading. Great for reading books or watching Amazon movies. You can download easily 7-10 2 hours movies and watch them off line. Can easily add memory with SD card. Resolution and speed not as good as regular tablets or iPads, but for the price and battery life it is a bargain.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 - 8" Tablet is a highly functional tablet at a very cheap price. I originally purchased this tablet as well as the 32 gb model. Although I love this tablet, I ended up returning it and held onto the 32gb model. Amazon makes a great tablet that is durable and easy to use.

I have purchased 4 of these in a years time. One for my daughter, one for my 93 year old Aunt and 2 for myself. These tablets are great for anything. I just discovered that they will verbally read all my Kindle books if I turn on text to speech. My IPad will supposedly do that but it is much more complicated and not easy to do. I chose to not use my memory card for internal memory but decided to load about 10,000 scanned and digitized pics on it from my laptop and then I use a program call F-Stop slide show for Kindle and I can use the Fire for easily viewing all my digital data taken from my removable memory card, I love it. There is also a procedure found on the internet that shows you how to load the Google play store by downloading four programs in the correct sequence, I have done this on 3 of my Amazon fires. Then you can download the Google Keyboard with the microphone built in so you can dictate emails, etc. I read all my books with it or just listen to them with the text to speech feature. I have talked to a friend about this and now he wants one even though he has a 9.7 IPad. I also have an IPad but really enjoy these Amazon Fires for my digital pics and reading Kindle Books. They also work great as an Alexa, I have many devices that work with it. When the price goes back to $50 my friend will also buy one. Also, the adds only show up on the lock screen, so don’t pay more to get rid of them.

actually this is number 4. the first two were for my grandkids very easy to use even for the 3year old, plus drop a few times and still works fine. The other two were for my M-v 50 ,small enough to take to the action and accept quick transfers. Plus Alexa big plus for me .

Every time its time to get my nieces a new ta let I always go for Amazon fire tablets. They are very durable, easy for them to operate, are able to do everything they want on it and most importantly they are affordable! Would highly recommend.

This latest release of the Amazon tablet is a perfect tablet for kids, or really anyone who needs a basic tablet for light entertainment. We bought two for our kids for the holidays this year along with protective cases. They love them for the games, books, videos, etc., and to have a tablet they can call their own. As parents we love them for two reasons--1) the price just can't be beat. It's a solid tablet, and does enough to keep our kids entertained when we need them to be. The thing that sets this tablet apart from any other tablet on the market for kids is Amazon's parental controls. They are the best that I've seen (and we've tried several other kids tablets) and Amazon is constantly updating them and making improvements. You can log in at any time from a computer or phone, and control each child's individual account from your Amazon account. You control the apps available, the books available, the videos available, the amount of time they can use the tablet on any given day, etc. You can even shut it down from wherever you are!!! Amazon has clearly put a lot of thought into the parental controls available. The biggest drawback to the tablet is that this is the second one we've had to buy for one of our kids due to the terrible charging port. We've told our kids we have to be the ones that plug it in, but it will still break (I've had these awful ports on my samsung phones before the fantastic redesign on the S9)--they just aren't durable and the metal tab will break. If you can get a few years out of it before that happens then you'll be getting your money's worth. The good thing is Amazon saves the account information so if you get a replacement or an upgrade you can set it up just like the original. Overall I highly recommend this, EXPECIALLY for parents that want to have some control over their children's online life.

The Fire tablet is an affordable alternative to some of the other brands. It is large enough for most applications (e-books, games, etc.) and has plenty of power and storage. If you need a tablet and don't want to spend a lot of money, you should consider this one!

I use mine to read books, and catch up on shows. The battery life is super long, and I love that it has a lot of storage, is very affordable and comes in different colors to choose from. I highly recommend this tablet.
