I purchased the Amazon Fire HD8 as an upgraded Kindle, but have been pleasantly surprised as a tablet. I have a Samsung Tab Pro 12.2, but it's heavy, gets hot, and uses up the battery quickly. The Fire is light and, once you download the Google Play app, you can install most Android apps. which run like they do on my Samsung Tab. But, the Fire is a lot cheaper and the battery lasts much longer. I'm thinking about trying the new Fire 10.1 coming out soon with full 1080 HD.

The tablet has excellent battery life, great resolution, easy enough to get started on. I use it with my Xfinity app to watch TV and download movies, and it works well and easily. My email account is with Office 365, and I had no trouble making that work. It is especially good when you import Amazon's apps or use Kindle books. I assume that is also true with their music. I would rate this five stars if it was apparent how to import photos and music from my PC without the tablet mixing it all up. I really want the thing to play a symphony in the correct order, not mix up the movements and intersperse them with other songs! The same thing happened with my pictures. On my widows PC they are all nicely in order in folders. Now they are spread out in no order at all. It is possible that I must import via USB cable, and I will try that. But it should be possible to use the SD card, as that is an easier way to transfer content. Other than that, I am quite satisfied.

First, let me say that this is my first Fire tablet. I've previously had either iPad's or Android tablets. I was skeptical at first, but decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. ~GREAT PRICE ~Fast ~Great Screen resolution ~Great sound ~Responsive ~Alexa is kind of awesome ~Great Battery Life. ~The OS. The operating system is simple, responsive, and beautifully done. Everything is easy to find and it's really easy to navigate. Overall this is a fantastic tablet and worth so much more than the price. I LOVE IT!

Fire tablets have come a long way! Great battery life, decent speed. Perfect tablet for reading, playing games, and watching videos on the go!

Bought it for my 13 year old daughter and so far she really enjoys it. The screen is a nice size especially compared to her cell phone size. The 32GB works well with the expanded memory card we installed of 256GB micro card. The 12 hour battery life has been nice. A very nice overall tablet

I got this Black Friday, 2017. The first thing I did was search the internet and read how to install Android alongside Amazon's Fire operating system. It was not too complicated if you follow carefully the rules. The only caveat about the Fire tablet is that it comes with only 1.5gb of RAM. Ideally, 3gb would minimal. Nonetheless, waiting for the Silk and other apps to open takes a few seconds longer, but not too slow to make you want to throw it against a wall. It is basically a large screened cell phone (and yes, you CAN make calls on it, via the Google Voice app, if you have a Google account). Just be sure also to get a case that, when closed, automatically locks the screen. Oh, and did I mention the battery life is still incredible...last days, depending on use.

The Amazon - Fire HD 8 - 8" - Tablet - 32GB was delivered quickly, set-up was easy as we already have another Kindle Fire, and the unit is terrific for our use (web browsing, YouTube, videos). The unit is fast, screen is very clear, and battery is good.

My son has had an older version for several years so we are updating to a newer version for Christmas he has loved his old one dearly and it has held up great

This was purchased to replace an older fire tablet with 8gb of memory. Run time was typically 4 hrs. in the several weeks used so far it has not run out of storage and has better run time as well as picture. Of course! It is a newer machine! Will suffice for the recreational purposes I place on it.

This a nice, compact tablet that will allow me to backup my photos when I travel. I am very happy with the ease of use and the speed of response! Plus I like the bright yellow case-- stands out in a crowd! The battery power is as advertised--a very impressive little machine!

The battery life is great. I used it off and on for 4-5 days and only charged it once!

This is awesome to have if you like reading or something to play games on. The battery is awesome on it and I haven't had trouble with it yet. I totally recommend getting it if it's for reading or surfing the internet.

As long as Wi-Fi is available, this little Beauty helps me keep working. Camera ain't much to write home about, but I didn't purchase for that feature. Easy to use, very healthy battery and long time between charging.

The HD display is absolutely gorgeous. Charging time is speedy, battery life is extended compared to the older generation tablets, and it's very user-friendly. Easy to learn and enjoyable!

This was a very easy setup, great display, lightweight, and long battery life. Having prime allows for many included options. The only downside is that some android apps are not compatible. Otherwise it was an easy transition from my former android tablet.

This edition of the kindle fire is a great improvement over the last model I had. The battery life is much better and it charges faster. The only drawback I have experienced is that the operation is sometimes slow. But I attribute that to having a 200GB expansion chip.

We purchased this for our son, for Christmas. It was easy to set up, it has great battery life, graphics are good and parental controls are great.

I have this tablet and the 7inch, great and easy use. I can take it everywhere and battery lasts for a while.

Got this for my 8 year old cousin. She loves it. Great battery life. Great for education and entertainment purposes.
