I purchased Amazon Fire HD8 after my original Amazon Fire (7 inch) would no longer run some applications that I had been using. My new Amazon Fire HD8 has an improved screen and I appreciate the larger size. I find the rotating screens ( e.g. books, apps, music, newsstand, etc.) somewhat confusing, never quit certain of my location. However, the pages flip quickly and smoothly. The screen is bright and exceptionally clear. I think 8 gigs of storage on the base model is very puny. I have less than 3.5 gigs remaining and I have not downloaded any movies, just a few books and apps. 16 gigs would be good and 32 even better. I have added a 32 gig SD card. All the Best Buy stores in my area, Jacksonville, FL, had only the 8 gig model available. I am a "hands on" purchaser; I prefer physically examining my purchase prior to spending my money.

I like the 8 because it has a larger screen then the original kindle fire, but it is still light weight and not too big. The display is great on it.

Good upgrade from my original Kindle Fire. Graphics are great. Easy to use but like some of the touch features of the old kindle better. Prefer to touch volume as opposed to buttons on top. Also when reading books, I prefer the touch slide when I want to go back to rehear a section of an audio book. I don't care for the 15 second rewind or the "arrows" to go back. I like the slide so I can go to the exact place I want. Everything else is great!

This kindle is very user friendly, light wait and is well worth every penny spent. I couldn't have asked for a better kindle :).

It was between this and the latest iPod touch. Given I haven't had much luck with ipods, I went with the fire hd 8 and have no regrets.

This is a great tablet! I have two iPads , Air & Air2 , but this tablet is different. It is the perfect size for reading , nice and light. Especially nice if you have Amazon Prime! I The software is much better than before, runs good, no lag.I would recommend this for kids and adults.

Great little screen, good battery, very easy to learn. Both the 7 and the 10 inch are awesome products.

I've had a few different kindle fire models; this is the nicest I've had. The expandable memory works well and the screen acknowledges my fingers much better than previous models. The ads really aren't that much of a bother.

Love this tablet. Great picture and size. Holds up well with kids handling it. Easy to use.

I got this tablet for my son when his broke and its even better than the tablet he had before. He had the older version of the fire tablet. It's easier to navigate, turn on and off, load apps but the only downfall I have is it's rather thin. This would be fine for a more mature child but for someone who doesn't care, a bumper is needed and best buy don't sell bumpers. Once I get one of those all will be good.

This went to another grandchild. Love the kindle. Easy to use and price is affordable.

I bought this as a gift for my wife. She is very happy with the quality of tablet. The screen is very crisp and clear. She also loves the look and feel of it. Overall it's a wonderful tablet for a reader and for someone who would enjoy watching videos.

The Kindle Fire was a major step up from my Nook Color which I had enjoyed using for a few years but when it came time for an upgrade the Fire was a clear choice. I did on-line research and then went to Best Buy to make the purchase a few days after Christmas. Got one of the last two in stock. The Fire is very user friendly and I was able to easily download apps for my favorite games and it only took a few minutes to set up my three e-mail accounts and and group my apps on the Home screen. Silk Browser provides easy access to the internet and I often use the Fire to check daily news and sports updates. I'm not a movie person but the ESPN Watch loaded up easily and I am able to enjoy sports on the go. I would think that Netflix would be as easy to add. In my opinion the $150 price was a real bargain. And by the way, I even occasionally read books on it.

I like the larger format. It is easier to read books and do jigsaw puzzles.

Bought this to replace a cracked Ipad Mini for my child. She absolutely loves it! It's fast enough for her to play her games, she can read on it via the kindle unlimited library for free and she can search the web. Pictures/videos from rear camera are great - front are so/so. She plays it every day until it dies and then charges it up and repeats! Would definitely recommend.

Lots of features and more compact than a lap top.Easy to learn.

It's easy to use.and has great sound and it's fun to use.

We started by hearing about the "Paper White". After recognizing the limitations of that product, started looking at a tablet. Decided on the HD8 because of internet browser capability (downloading from a library) and the bigger screen. I would have been disappointed if I hadn 't found some software that allows me to put other icons on the product.

Love the screen size, resolution, and the light weight.
