While there are a multitude of free apps and services still available for this device from 3rd party developers, there is some content that we have as part of our Kids+ premium subscription service. With the purchase of a Kids tablet, you get 1 year free of Kids+ to try out all of the content and then afterwards you can keep the service for as little as $4.99 a month or $48 a year. The subscription gives access to premium content numbering in the thousands of books, games, videos, and Alexa Skills and Apps. With it you get exclusive content from brands like Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Marvel, and Lego just to name a few all while having a convenient Parent Dashboard accessible online or in the Amazon Kids app on your device or smartphone. This is all optional and you still have access to a wide range of content for free in addition to this while some 3rd party services may have their own services and subscriptions. This was a present to my niece who lives in Mexico and it needs a U.S.A account to set it up.

I don’t even know where to start. The user interface is just awful. It freezes constantly. When it’s not frozen there is a noticeable lag in everything you do. This is one of those products that just baffles me as to how it made it out into the market. We’ve had them for about 3 months and I’m ready to toss them in the garbage and find a replacement. Seriously, do not buy these because you will regret it.

Posted .Hi PatrickD. Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear you are experience issues with the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet. Please try clearing the cache on your Fire HD 8 Kids pro by turning off your Fire tablet by holding down the power button.
Once it's off, press the power and volume up buttons.
When you see the Amazon boot logo, let go of the volume button but keep holding down the power button until you enter the recovery screen.
An Amazon Fire Tablet on the Android Recovery screen to clear cache.
On the recovery screen, scroll through the recovery menu using the volume buttons, select wipe cache partition, and press the power button to enter. Make sure you don't select the factory reset option by mistake. You're asked to confirm your choice.
When you return to the recovery screen, scroll down and select power down. Then, hold down the power button again (without holding down any volume buttons) to turn your tablet back on. You can also uninstall unused or old apps from the tablet. If this information does not help, you can reach Amazon Customer service 24/7 for assistance. You can reach them at 1-888-280-4331. We pride ourselves in creating and maintaining a very low cost of entry for our devices and in doing so many of our products are ad supported to do just that. However, at any time, if you feel that you would like to remove ads from your devices, you can go to the Devices section of your Amazon account to pay a one time fee per device and this will remove ad support from your tablets. Many people like the ads and how they recommend services and products that may benefit them but this option is available for anyone that find ad support jarring or disruptive. I hope you see this and look into this option to see if it is something you are interested in exploring before you return them.
