It definitely should not be functioning in this way and I can understand how that would be frustrating for you. While it may be beyond the window of return, I do however have good news for you! All of our Kids tablets come with a 2 year worry free guarantee so you can definitely get it replaced via contacting Amazon Customer Service! Another thing you can do to assist in your tablet running smoothly is see how many apps are running in the background and close out of the ones you are not using. You can access this by tapping the Multitask button in the bottom right hand corner of the home screen and swiping all the way to the left and tapping Close All.
