Going to return. Bought for my grandma, the salesmen Sade with the parental block I could fix it so she counted down load anything. Only way to do that is a monthly fee,

Hello TraceyP. Thank you for your feedback on the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet. I'm sorry to hear about the confusion regarding parental controls and subscription requirements. The basic parental control features, including the ability to restrict app downloads and manage content access, remain available on the device even after the included six-month Amazon Kids+ subscription expires, so you don't need to pay a monthly fee to maintain these restrictions. However, since this tablet is designed with a child-focused interface, a standard Fire HD 8 tablet would be more straightforward for your grandmother, as you could simply manage app installations through the device's built-in settings without dealing with the Kids+ interface. I hope this clarifies that you can restrict downloads without the monthly subscription. I hope that helps and have a great day! AmazonDevices

      Dear Kalicedaley25,

Thank you for your review of the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet. I see your main concern is about the size. The "8" in Fire HD 8 actually refers to its 8-inch screen size, which is clearly stated in the product name and specifications. If you're looking for a larger tablet, we offer the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro with a 10.1-inch display.

      For comparison:

Fire HD 8 Kids Pro: 8-inch display
Fire HD 10 Kids Pro: 10.1-inch display

If you're still within your return window, you can exchange it for the larger model at Best Buy or through Amazon directly. We want to make sure your child has the tablet size that works best for them.

      Best regards,
      Amazon Fire Tablet Team AmazonDevices

Amazing tablet for my 4 year old. Able to run all the apps including streaming and gaming with zero issues. The processor is super fast and doesnt lag even the biggest apps. Beat feature is that i can control his screen time thru my phone so if we feel he needs a break, i can pause the device for however long time i choose right on my phone

I bought this for care rides for my granddaughter. Perfect size for travel. The apps are plentiful and most have parental controls to limit content by age.

    Not for graphic design!

Well, I guess the tablet decided I wasn’t cut out for graphic design and handed in its resignation—straight to my daughter! At least now it’s living its best life playing ABC games and keeping her entertained. Guess I’ll stick to fixing cars and leave the artistry to her.

This has been one of the most disappointing purchases I've ever made. There are 3rd party ads integrated into apps like YouTube, that don't exist in the mobile form of the app. So even though I'm paying to have a YouTube experience without ads, Amazon thinks it's okay to force their ads into the margins. I bought this for my toddler, I don't want you advertising to my toddler. There is also this error symbol (circle with line through it) that appeared in the notification panel after some moths of use. However there is no information provided, and no way to select the error or tell where it is coming from. Even after looking through multiple help pages to troubleshoot what the issue could be, still no luck. The online pages say it shouldn't be a big issue, but the big issue to me is that you made a user interface that is absolute garbage.

Hello Samm! Thank you so much for your time and review on your Fire HD 8 Kids Pro! Any ads that come through inside of apps and web pages are coming from those services directly. The YouTube app, for instance, may not look and appear the same as a YouTube app in your mobile phone because it's not the same app. YouTube on Fire tablets, is a web based option that allows for usage on our Fire tablets. Any ads that may appear on lock screens, however, are ads that come from Amazon directly and are there to allow for the discounted price you paid for this device. However, you can remove these apps by navigating to your Amazon Digital Services and Device Support profile on the Amazon website and clicking to remove Special Offers on your Fire tablet. There is a one time fee but this will remove these Special Offers from your device permanently. Lastly, the icon you are describing in your Notification area is the Mute icon or the Disable Alexa icon. If you see this icon, it means that Alexa is disabled on your device. You can enable her again by swiping down and tapping Alexa or going into the Settings of your device. I do hope this helps some and assists in improving your experience some and I thank you again for your time! Have a great day! AmazonDevices
