It definitely gets the primary job of watching a show or movie for your kid and having them use a not $1,000 phone. However, some of the configuration that can be done isn't up to par as what other companies are doing. But a cheap tablet price point to stream and have minimal storage space this is what you need.

Opening apps and any input is so delayed. I got my daughter one years ago and I thought this would have been fixed.

I recommend ensuring that the software on the tablet is up to date. Go to Settings. Select Device Options. Select System Updates. Select Check Now. If an update is available, select Update or Install. There may be multiple updates. If so, select install after each update is finished. Clear the cache for frequently used apps, especially the browser. Please ensure that you have no apps running in the background by tapping the square symbol at the bottom of your tablet, next to your Home button. Dismiss any apps you are not currently using.
