While the Fire Max 11 does in fact have a faster processor than the HD 8, you can still possibly improve your speed on your 8 by doing the following: One thing you can try to see if it can enhance your experience with the speed of the tablet is to make sure you don't have too many apps running in the background. You can do this by tapping the Multitask icon in the lower right of your screen and swiping individual apps up that you are not using to close them out. You can also swipe all the way over and tap Close All to close them all out. This may free up some space for processing to run a little faster for you. I do hope this works to speed up your tablet and that you have a superb day!

So easy to type your info. Also the touch screen is great. I have to keep reminding myself that this is a touch screen computer.

She saw this one in store and was amazed with the difference in the screen quality. So, I said Happy Birthday, and bought it for her. She has had no complaints so far.

An exceptional tablet for the price point

It's pretty much perfect for this task, and it does everything else expected of a fully featured tablet exceptionally well, as well. If I had any gripes, they'd only be about the advertisements on the lock screen and the "walled garden" approach to apps, but those are such minor gripes that I don't bother to count them as actual demerits to the tablet itself. For the price, it's exceptional and well worth the purchase.
