However, there is no way to buy the ad-free version from BB (I asked Amazon). It's still a good deal but add $15 to the price if you don't want idle broadcast adds from Amazon.

As you stated, this device is sold with lock screen ads called "Special Offers". And while Best Buy does not offer the product without these Special Offers at the higher price, you are able to pay a one time fee through your Amazon profile Devices page by clicking to Remove Special Offers. This will allow you to have the lock screen ads removed permanently under your profile and device. We have these in place to allow for the highest discount available to keep this aggressively value priced. However, we understand that not everyone will want to keep these active on their lock screen. Thanks again for your time and feedback and hope you have a terrific day!
