The kindle fire kids edition is just a kindle with a blue frame and pre-loaded kids content for which you pay a premium. I suggest saving for an apple iPad mini as the kindle fire kids edition is very slow & doesn't have a long battery life. Worse, if you take it overseas your kids won't be able to access the special kids content: apps, videos or books, which is the whole point of buying this edition. This will ruin your vacation!

Works great could improve battery life otherwise have no issues

I purchased this tablet in blue for my sons 4th birthday. I'm glad I did. After pouring over multiple reviews I didn't hesitate. The tablet is durable, my son dropped it the second day. It comes with Freetime for a year through Amazon. There is an unbelievable amount of apps to choose from. You can set up more than 1 user as well. I set it up for my son to use as well as me. In settings you can control the time the tablet can be used and set all parental controls. This is the first android device in our household.The rest are IOS products. Once you learn to navigate the tablet, it becomes second nature. Battery life is above par. When it runs low I charge it over night. I also recommend buying additional memory. I gave it four stars for charge time and limited memory on device

My daughter Nabi broke and we replaced it with the kindle. She was able to do so much more. It is easier to upload the games and it automatically comes with a shell case to protect the product when it drops. She loves it.

Love how they made a Kindle for kids. It's easier for them to use and navigate than the regular Kindle.

This is a basic Fire with expandable memory. The addition of the case and extended warranty protection make it a good starter tablet. The setup of unlock codes, avatars, and ID's for multiple tablets switches around under the Family Share arrangement from tablet to tablet.

Purchased 2 of these as Christmas gifts for my two grandsons. They were both thrilled! Use daily and take them everywhere...usually in their backpacks for easy access. Also purchased a separate black tablet case with stand for the older of the two boys as it was more "grown-up" in appearance and also helps them distinguish which one belongs to whom.

Awesome tablet for younger kids... Everything is kid friendly and easy to use. Also takes nice pics.

My grandson is 2 and he loves it. It has learning and entertainment which my daughter loves as well.

My son loves his tablet. His older sister has had a similar tablet for 2 years now so he had no trouble figuring out how to use it. I like that the case is soft and so far it seems like it will prevent accidental damage. I ordered a screen protector at the same time but it did not fit right and i had to trim it. That is my only complaint.

My daughter loves this tablet. It is fairly easy to navigate. My one complaint is that the storage is EXTREMELY minimal. An sd card is pretty much a necessity or it won't run anything without unloading apps or books.
