This tablet helps my step daughter tremendously when it's time to wind down for the night for bed. It also keeps her occupied when there is something that I need to get done but am unable to keep an eye on her for those few minutes. I know that when I put this in her lap, that's where she'll be for the next hour. She's grasped her colors and numbers a lot better since using this too. It was worth every penny.

These require the big case if your child is under the age of 18. These are pretty fragile devices. The most frustration part is the charging port. Your kids might want to leave the kindle on a shelf and let the power cable dangle while its charging. This will bend the power port and over a few months it'll actually make the power port loose and it'll stop charging if you don't hold the cable in. You kinda get what you pay for. I'd recommend an older iPad over this.

This is my 5 year old daughters second tablet, her ipad had seen better days and she needed an upgrade. Her brothers both have kindles and this came up as a great deal of $99 at Christmas, we added a 64Gb memory upgrade form the standard 8Gb - she loves to take pictures:) So far so good, great pictures, sound and she loves it - especially in her pink case, there is a blue option for boys.
