I would start by saying that this is the first time I’ve ever experienced the Fire series of tablets and with this being the 13th generation that is a long time for me not to give something a try. Fortunately the experience right out of the box was a positive one, and throughout the first couple of weeks the Fire Max won me over in many ways. I have a lot of Alexa enabled home with a lot of smart elements from lighting to fans, as well as my home protection package. The Fire Max immediately established itself as a mobile ‘console’ with the ability to control all of these devices with a touch of a button on the main screen. This has been super handy when wanting to check on pets or just turning off the forgotten light downstairs. As a productivity device, the Fire Max comes with a full suite of Amazon branded apps - great if you’re already using them, but maybe a learning curve if you’re used to using other operating platforms. In a bit of a surprise, there is a version of Office 365 that proved pretty handy when my work laptop was out of reach. Battery life has been excellent even under the heavier load of playing games or watching media content. I found myself wanting to do these things more on the Fire than my phone for this reason, and the tablet stays in close reach when I’m at home. The one thing I did find disappointing was the advertising on the Lock Screen. We see so much advertising everywhere we go that the last thing I wanted to be surprised by is constant marketing while I’m trying to unlock with the fingerprint reader. It’s possible that there is a way to turn this off that I haven’t discovered, but I would rather have opted in than have to find somewhere to opt out later. It detracted enough from my user experience to lower my rating by one star but might not bother you at all.

I have used older Fire tablets, and they always just became overpriced Kindles after a few months. This one has the potential to be better. The form factor is better for movies as it is a lot taller then previous Fire tablets I've used. If you have it landscape mode, it splits the books into two columns/pages. Widescreen movies look so much better, and I can see much more of my email box when I have it portrait mode. The speed isn't great but it is good enough for a consumption type device. I'm never going to use this to replace a laptop. I might use it for some light office tasks as it is big enough to see documents and know where to sign with my finger or the not included stylus pen Amazon sells. I could see using some of the paid art apps as well. There is a basic Microsoft Office app and that can be useful for reading documents but used need a keyboard and a Microsoft Office subscription to make the most of it. I have that and find it easy to use. Overall, if you like the Fire tablets but wished it was bigger, buy this!

The Amazon Fire Max Tablet is a good all around general use for the less tech savvy. The reason I say that is the amazon OS is really dumb down so you can't do too much with it. You unbox it, power it on and you are immediately thrust into a registration mode using your amazon account. The magnetic case that covers the back is nice and feels durable. There is an optional keyboard and stylus that are not sold with the tablet and must be purchased separately. You get a browser app to surf the internet and then of course you get all the perks that come with Amzaon, videos, music, books etc. Colors look great, sound is good and the battery life is really nice, about 3 hours of constant use. If you are just using it to read occasionally probably more. The app store will let you download some apps like facebook but be warned this is not google play store of Ios App store, choices are limited. I would get this tablet if you looking to dive into the amazon eco system as a multipurpose Kindle but you want to look at some other OS options if you are looking for anything beyond basic functionality.

It works very well for the uses that we purchased it for. The screen size was one of the major features that we needed it for and we are very satisfied.

Amazingly good. Bright and sharp. Worth the money. Make sure they don't put those very annoying ads on your screen. Nothing in the ad said they came with the tablet. Bring in the Google Aps Store. Works pretty well.

I love this new tablet. It is really fast and the display is very bright. It is a lot faster than my old fire tablet. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new tablet.

Amazing product, this is my 4th tablet in 15 years. My husband and I enjoy the quality, convenience and price. We have never been dissatisfied with this company.

The upgrade the wife loves faster brighter and larger the key board and pin make this tablet easier to use, AMAZON keeps trying to make it better at a good price.

My daughter loved it it was a birthday gift. She takes it everywhere she goes. Is now reading more books here as well.

So far so good. My daughter bought me this for Christmas. The only issue I have is that I'm use to Google and it's not set up for that.

Its really good for kids, a secent product with in the budget.
