It is way faster than prior generations. Nonetheless, I have learned that the physical differences among the different versions of this product are very subtle. They seem so subtle that one “reputable” retailer retailer (not bestbuy) shipped me a first generation 4K stick, which they advertised as a new 4k max device. Those devises should be more clearly marked as 4K max, 4k etc.
