I love it!

Samsung no longer updates the software or apps on this TV, so I got the Fire Stick to have the latest apps, including Amazon Prime, Netflix, and YouTube. It has all of that and much more. It works great and is very easy to set up. Plus you can easily connect a Bluetooth keyboard and/or mouse to it if you need to. I highly recommend the Fire Stick, get one when it's on sale as it's a really good price for it.

Good for older televisions

His mentality is if there is an image then why buy a new one, given that reasoning the fire stick was a good happy medium to allow him to use some of the apps we use at home without having to get rid of his non smart tv.

Fire Stick has so many apps- Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, IDMB, etc. Some are free and others require a subscription. No need for cable TV anymore. Get the 4K version of the Fire Stick as it has the 'volume control' buttons it. The Stick does seem to get confused every once in a while and needs to be rebooted but small price to pay for large select of entertainment.

Simple streaming similar to what’s on smart TVs however you have some additional features with the external device.

I have them on all my TV's whether they are new or older. I even have this fire stick installed on a TV that comes with Roku pre-installed if that tells you anything.. The processor in these devices is more powerful then what is installed on TV's, so faster and smoother operation. I put the app on my phone to use as a remote and could not be happier..a must have for me.
