Fire TV wasn’t anything to write home about previously (some apps not working properly, too many prominent ads, limited storage space) but wasn’t that far behind Roku as it had far superior speed when switching apps and navigating within apps. Now, with the latest update, the focus is ENTIRELY about Amazon’s bottom line (ads). Screen is so cluttered with ads that it’s a minor chore getting to the app you want. You have to tile through at least one of their ads to get your app. (For those who haven’t used Roku, they have only one ad that is placed non-obtrusively to the right of the apps.) And *still*, certain apps like CNN almost never work properly (always frozen), so what was the reason for the update besides more ads? And just noticed there is now NO CBS, and when you search for CBS programs such as “CBS This Morning” you just get links that don’t even lead to that program but Amazon’s “Curated News”. You wonder how many other channels are gone now, too. Much slower now. Used to be pretty quick and smooth navigating but no more, can take up to a minute sometimes. And a few times the TV has even failed to start up. One time I tried to start Netflix, nothing happened so I went to another app, and as that was slowly opening I heard the Netflix opening chime. None of this happened before the update. And to get to the cable box before you just had to tile left once, simple. Now you have to tile to the left twice and down? The inputs used to be easily accessible from the main menu but now you have to go to a special tab, and then it drops down to the inputs. WHY? Oh yeah… they need more space for all the new ADS. Reminds me of how Amazon customer service used to be super helpful and almost unctuous. And now they’re almost rude. One reason why I rarely buy from Amazon nowadays. I’m staying with Roku (whose only major flaw, speed, is now comparable to fire stick) from now on, or trying Apple TV. I might actually have to buy one of those sticks now, on the TV that has Fire TV already installed.

I bought this specifically because it connected directly with bluetooth headphones. The problem is that anytime you use those bluetooth headphones, the unit will suddenly turn on and resume whatever you were watching last. Turn on your headphone, connect to your cell phone and go for a run? Your Fire Stick is playing Parks and Rec in the basement all by itself for hours. Unplugging the unit from the wall every time is the only way around this. I haven't found a solution on support or forums. It works this way with a couple of different BT headphones. Roku won't let you connect directly to the unit with headphones and develops an audio lag when using the phone app to connect to headphones. This would be a 4 or 5 star product if it weren't for that problem.

Awkward shape for single hand use (rolls). Also, this one doesn't want to work. Drains batteries after few minutes:( Wasted many batteries. Re- pairing efforts failed to fix. Tried to return but store would not. Said to send to manufacturer. Haven't heard any more. Guess I just got scammed out of a remote. Doesn't deserve a single star.

Horrible picture quality; horrible sound; very slow response; lots of buffering !!!! We just purchased this Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K ('AFT Stick 4K') and were excited to try it out. Well we couldn't have been more disappointed; ours produced a horrible, grainy, pix-elated, dull, dark and blurry picture. no matter which content we tried in the AFT Stick 4K menu; whether movies or documentaries or TV. The picture quality ('PQ') was much worse than our old CRT tv's from the 80's & 90's. The sound was equally as bad; horrible sound quality, as the AFT Stick 4K seemed to be only producing 2-channel stereo, with no surround channels, instead of the full 5.1 ch w/surround sound. When we'd exit out of the AFT Stick 4K....and go to our Amazon Prime Video app on our tv's 'Home' apps menu, and watch the the same movie or doc or tv show, the PQ & sound would go back to perfect, just like we've been used to on our Sony X900E & X930E tv's (w/Android OS, w/Prime Video app). But each time we'd try the AFT Stick 4K again.....the PQ & sound quality would revert to horrible & horrible!! We have no idea what could've been causing this terrible PQ & sound quality performance. So will be returning pronto. Additionally, we couldn't get our brand new (purchased at same time) 3rd gen Echo Dot to pair with the AFT Stick 4K. Tried several times to no avail. However the Alexa did work with the AFT Stick 4K remote & our Sony X900E & X930E tv's. But again, after several attempts— we weren't able to pair the AFT Stick 4K with the Echo Dot, causing further frustration, as while we were trying to speak to Alexa on the AFT Stick 4K....the Echo Dots' stronger mic's would pick-up our voice and answer/override the Alexa in the AFT Stick 4K & tv. So all in all, a complete bust for us. Although the experience has helped us to realize that— if you're already an Amazon Prime member.... there's really no need for having an AFT Stick 4K, unless you really want the Alexa voice control over your tv. Which we've decided we definitely do not need the hassle of, especially since we already have an Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet— who's Alexa was also answering us.... totaling three Alexa's all trying to answer us at the same time. No thanks. :~\ Our Harmony remote & Sony remote w/ Google Assistant voice are plenty good enough for us. Hope some of that made some sense. Good luck with your experiences.

Easy set up for a person with limited computer skills like me

I ordered 3 and one of them was extremely defective… the other 2 were great.

I am really enjoying the fire tv as it gets me away from the regular commercials and i still get to watch my movies.

Fie stick cured my freeze tv problem,bit can’t get local news i also have tube tv that i have using for local channels?

Received the product in a timely manner. Product worked just fine. Although I don't like the Amazon interface as much as Roku's, I particularly like the fact that the Amazon Fire Stick includes a web browser, a feature that Roku still lacks.

Love this product; it saved us from having to pay for cable for the tv in our home gym.

Works very well. I particularly like the streaming media highlighted in colors.

Remote does not work properly batteries drain constantly. I have to stand directly next to the television for it to work.

Have several others in the house. Needed to replace one.

Ive had a 30$ roku a 30$ chromecast and my 4k firestick. The chromecast works great still. Its 4 yrs old and has 1000's of hours on it. The firestick is pure JUNK. I booted it up in jan 2021, ive had to hard reset it 4 x, reset it daily(unplugging it) and still it doesnt work very good. The firesticks own app Amazon prime buffers alot and IT DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH THE APP CINEMA HD, NO MATTER WHAT TROYPOINT SAYS OR THE 20,000 REVIEWS GIVING IT 5 STARS, I STAND BY MY REVIEW AND SAY THIS THING IS NOT A GOOD STREAMER BUY A ROKU OR CHROMECAST.

DO NOT BUY I REPEAT DO NOT BUY, this firestick is a waste of money it loses connection every 5 minutes I had to keep disconnecting the wifi n connecting till I got tired and went back to using my old regular firestick how does the original basic firestick work better than the new supposed upgraded better version if you don't believe me look up 4k firestick on Google there are pages and pages of people having the same issue look on YouTube save ur money if u have the original one keep it

I don't lIke firesticks at all . I purchased a firestick for my room amd by the 3rd or 4th week it stopped working, purchased another one and same thing happened

Ordered the 4k max and the remote does not have disney or hulu buttons. Remite does not match the pictures
