It is quite long, so if you don't have enough clearance behind your TV or AV unit, you will need an hdmi dongle.

I would never have been able to do this on my own as there was very little in the way of instructions. But now that I am getting used to it, I love it.

I love that this supports the Slingplayer application for watching my shows from my Slingbox. Probably 80% of why I own so many Fire TVs and sticks. I do travel with them quite bit as well and very pleased with its connectivity.
