very poor wifi reception
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased 2 of these, 1 for myself recently and one as a gift last year. And both have failed to work after a few days because they could no longer find the wifi network despite finding it immediately when first being set up. The person I gifted it to previously never informed me it failed until I mentioned mine failed. Looking at the amazon support page this appears to be a common issue if the stick is not used right by the router. Additionally within that same week were the wifi receiver failed the remote stopped working completely even with new batteries. So I couldn't even try to fix the thing.

No UV movies
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If one of the reasons you are buying this is to be able to play your Ulraviolet movies (when you buy a DVD that has free digital copy) DON'T buy the Amazon fire stick. You will NOT be able to play any of your movies. HUGE disappointment. Amazon used to support Flixter which would allow you to play your movies, but they have dropped the service. Google Chromecast allows you to use Vudu to play your ultraviolet movies, so I would suggest that or Roku.

Remote is defective

Had to remove and reinsert batteries to reset with every use. Now it won't work at all and there is no workaround. Will not replace with another FireStick. Will try a Roku instead.
