I have never owned an eReader but bought this one specifically for the premium build and waterproof ability. You truly can read it in direct sunlight and I like the buttons. The battery doesn’t last weeks as advertised I fully charged it as soon as I got it home and adjusted the settings to the recommended ones and it’s only lasted a few hours over a span of three days. Also you have to pay $20 to Amazon to remove the ads.

Absolute love the kindle! Have read so many books on it

I have owned this now for a little over two weeks. After reading around 2k pages I am in love with this product. Surpised how often i charge it, but honestly i havent put it down. I like that you can swipe or use buttons, even disabling touch. No conplaints!

Perfect little handheld e-reader. The backlight does not hurt my eyes.

It was ok! I had to return it because it wasn’t able to download my text books but great device!

No longer have to worry about going to the beach, sitting by (or in) the pool, or taking a bath! Perfect for those who like to read around water!

The Kindle Oasis E-Reader is the second kindle I've purchased. I like the improved shape as it's easier to handle. It's waterproof so I have no qualms to use it at the pool or beach. With one click I can change the lighting and/or font to suit where and when I'm reading it. No sun glare to contend with.

I have had an old kindle for many years and used it to upgrade. I like the new one but it is a little large for holding with one hand.

I had a previous version of this Kindle which I liked a lot, but the battery wore out, and I was told that it is not easy to replace. The new Kindle is similar to the older model: Differences. After the first swipe to open the book, it is necessary to swipe again (and extra advertisement) which is annoying. Also, don’t believe that purchasing an audio version enables you to just read the book. I do find that the Kindle is convenient and I read books more using this format.

After many years of reading hiatus, I wanted to get back into reading so I had ordered a Kindle Paperwhite (latest edition). After using it for about a week, I realized that it did not have the best form-factor for one-handed usage, so, I decided to return that and purchase a Kindle Oasis. I am very happy with his decision. Kindle Oasis not only has a better form factor for one-handed usage, but, the 1" bigger screen really makes a big difference and reading at night (with all lights out) is amazing with warm-light feature. Battery life is a little less than Paperwhite but it is still good enough to where you don't really have to worry about it for a couple of weeks. I have enjoyed reading books since I purchased it. Great purchase for this year for myself. :)

I love it! It may be pricey, but if you love to read and have the income to fork over the cash, it is worth it. The design fits in your hand perfectly and honestly, I love having the page turn buttons. This was my first Kindle and I'm never going back. Having all of your books in one place and having the ease of the Kindle is great.

Upgraded from Kindle Fire and what a difference!! Ease of use is much improved. I’m enjoying the Oasis more than I anticipated. I received excellent advice from my Best Buy representative - he made the purchase smooth.

This is a very comfortable and ergonomic reader. It's easy to hold in one hand. It's not just flat like most tablets. The white background is very similar to reading a paper book, as it doesn't get washed out even when reading outdoors in the sun. Easy to download books.

Lighting is excellent. Size is easy to hold, yet bigger than the standard 6 inch readers. Works well with a case. Otherwise, the aluminum body can be slick.

I like the thinness of this Kindle and the way it shaped. It's easy to read and the button to turn the page are amazing. I can carry it my purse to take anywhere. I would recommend this one by far.

I have photophobia and have problems with LED lights giving me migraines. I specifically purchased this Kindle because I thought it would help with removing the blue light problem. I believe it has helped. I still have some problems but it is much better than with prior kindles. Not sure it is worth the additional money.

This was a great purchase. It is very easy to setup. The two best features for me are: the page turner buttons and the brightness options. The light adjusts the brightness of screen based on lighting conditions. It is restful to the eyes. I can’t be without a Kindle!

Nice upgrade from Kindle Paper White. Feels much better in hand and more responsive than the Paper White. Having the buttons to change pages is also nice and more responsive as well.
