    Love my new Kindle

So happy with this Kindle! It's very easy to use, lightweight so you can carry it in your bag like you would with a paper book, except here you have an entire library with you. It's easy to download books, you can set up a wish list, read several books at the same time and you never loose your page. The screen lights are fantastic when you read in the dark, and there's absolutely no glare when you read in the sun. The only drawback is that I thought I would be able to purchase books on any amazon site so that I could read books in French if they're not available on the U.S. site, and it turns out you can't. You can only purchase the ebooks from the country your Kindle is set up. That was a real disappointment, as I had read some reviews before buying it where they said you could... Overall, I absolutely love it and if you're a book worm like i am, than I would absolutely recommend it. I would actually recommend it to any one.

    A Great Update

I purchased this Kindle to replace my original Kindle that is of the same format. I don't believe it was called Paperwhite, but its the one without the keyboard at the bottom. It has been a great Kindle, however, I've always been disappointed that it did not have a back light. Now that I have a back light, I have no idea how I managed before. Even reading before bed with the lamp next to the bed on, the back light makes a big difference. The extra resolution is nice, but not really a huge thing when you're talking about text on the screen. The battery life is definitely reduced when running the back light, however, not to the point where I have to charge every night. I'll still likely get several weeks of battery life before needing to recharge. Overall, if you're looking to upgrade, this is the Kindle to get. The back light is a huge upgrade for me. It helps reduce my eye strain which is important to me.

I love this thing and bring it with me everywhere. My only problem is the backlight, hear me out I suggest this if your a serious reader. The problem is that reading a glowing page is off putting and one of the reasons I bought a paper white 3. Becuase I can't read on a iPad for but maybe 20 mins. But its not that bad I usually just turn it off becuase most of my reading is done in daylight. All in all great but not perfect. And if your into occult reads like I am be ready to fork out the $$$ for them. The selection does leave some to be desired but not bad. I give the kindle store for books a 3 out of 5. If your not a serious reader(3+ books a week imo) I I would go with a voyage or if you can stick to the iPad I would do that.

Easy to read fonts, do not have to buy an external light, can read in bright sunlight or in the dark. Easy to add books from Amazon Kindle. It's nice to carry your whole library with you in your purse.

Kindle Paperwhite 2015 is just small and thin enough to fit in a purse. In fact it is lightweight enough that sometimes I think I forgot it. The backlight is brighter than I expected. I am not crazy about needing to access the menu using touchscreen and still miss my Kindle 3 with a full alphanumeric keyboard, but in general the Paperwhite is a useful little gadget for reading anywhere you go.

This is my first time buying Amazon products, and also my first time buying e reader. I have to say I'm impressed. Kindle ppw is everything I need: portable, but useful. It's just that I didn't realize a tablet case or sleeve is needed at the beginning and usage without device protection causes a tiny crack in the screen but apart from that I'm very satisfied with Kindle paperwhite.

My wife has had one for quite a bit and she was always telling me this was the way to go. No matter how low I put the brightness on my phone, it was still a very harsh light. I can easily set the brightness to a comfortable level, still use it in any light, and I find I fall asleep faster at night side it is easy in the eyes.

It's small and handy, has great battery life. It hasn't completely replaced my other devices for reading, but mostly. It's great for reading in bed so I don't have to turn any lights on and disturb my wife. Biggest drawback for me is the fact that I have a number of downloaded ebooks and other documents that are color and I don't get to enjoy the benefit of color on the Kindle.

I had the original Kindle for years and when it finally crashed I was heartbroken. I don't like to change once I get used to something so having to go out and buy a new Kindle was hard but I need my books. The paperwhite is great because the light is built in so I didn't need to hunt down a lighted cover. The reason I went with the paperwhite is because I can't read with my glasses on it gives me a headache and that model you are still able to adjust the font.It works great in sunlight I read on beach for 2 days while on vacation. It transfered all my books from the old kindle as soon as I registered it also so I still have my library.I am glad to say after being skeptical of change it was a great decission.

I didn't think it was possible to love my Kindle more! But I got the paper white to replace my Kindle touch. It's even more crisp and doesn't strain my eyes. Plus, I can read even when its shady or dark- because of the backlight. I like that I can adjust the brightness too. Worth every penny ! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Highly recommend.

I have had a previous kindle before and so I already knew what to expect getting. Text is clear and the back lighting makes it crisper depending on the lighting of the room you are reading in. In the dark if I put the backlight on it is possible to read but personally it hurts my eyes. So I bought a separate LED clip on book light. I use Amazon all the time so it's the company I prefer to buy ebooks from.

I owned one of the original kindles and used it for years before passing it onto my Mom. I had bought an iPad and liked having a multi-purpose device when traveling. When I had to pass my iPad onto my wife to use in her speech therapy sessions I decided to look at the newer Kindles instead of buying a new iPad. I really like the size and weight of the Kindle Paperwhite, especially when reading in bed. The performance is a little slow but not an issue once a book is open. I do wish I could access my magazine and book purchases in Apples iBooks app (Apple lets me access my Kindle library from an iPad) but other than that I am happy with my purchase.

You will not regret this purchase! The kindle holds a charge for more than a week, is super light weight, easy on the eyes, and allows you to define words with the point of a finger! It even adds defined words to a vocabulary list, so you can review them! ♡♡♡♡♡

The words are sharp & clear. I can make the font large enough that I don't need to wear my glasses. I like having the ability to put my "books" into files. Ex: current reading, series by author, bookbooks, etc. I bought the Fire less than a year ago but the words aren't as clear as the Paperwhite. Also, the Fire automatically categorized the "books" & I didn't like that.

I've been a long time user of their main competitor's products and recently purchased this to get a few e-books not available in the other vendor's catalog. The biggest difference I noticed is that this ereader defaults to having the light on at all times. I was skeptical at first, but haven't seen any problems with battery life and it actually is a little nicer to read, even in moderately lit areas.
